But I often read belittling comments about it (usually from the same guys that engage in nuclear warfare about "whats better - vortex or mo2?"). I do not condone that. Everyone should just use the modmanager that they like best without getting harassed over it. Having personal tastes doesn't make you better than others. 5 hours ago, drsemmel said: If he voices audiobooks, I´d be ready to buy it ^^ No arguments here.

Indeed, I know of a few people who use Wrye Bash as their mod manager for Elder Scrolls games. I gather they tend to stick with one mod setup for all their active characters, and thus don't need or want the mod isolation or multiple mod profiles of MO2 or Vortex. (Myself, I mostly only use Wrye Bash to make bashed patches, which merge changes when multiple mods edit the same NPCs or leveled lists in my game. And occasionally for a few of its other functions.) Meanwhile, I've always been an altaholic, frequently starting new characters long before I'm done with older ones. I like having different profiles with different mod setups -- sometimes to swap mid-play where not too unsafe (like a couple of long-gone Winter and Summer season overhauls for Oldrim), sometimes to keep an older character playable after I've stopped using a mod in new games, and sometimes just to try out new mods without disturbing my existing saves or setup. And then there are mods like Kajiit Speak Redux, which are really only fitting when playing certain characters anyway.* * Thees one would sound odd talking like Khajiit when not Khajiit, no? I've been using MO2, and it's been working fine, as far as I can tell. I also got LOOT and Bodyslide and Outfit Studio. I've already installed quite a few mods, too. I'm primarily focusing on stuff to make my character look more like me. Right now, I have RaceMenu, CBBE 3BA as my body replacer, Fair Skin Complexion for the skin, Eyes of Beauty, and KS Hairdos with physics. So far, I haven't encountered any issues. Maybe it's because I actually read descriptions, unlike most people complaining in the mods' posts? Seriously, no wonder some mod-makers are so testy. As a side note, I spent about an hour on my face preset and another on my body preset. I have to say, I'm very proud of them! This may sound weird, but I want to make them into mods people can download. Is there a way I can do that? I know nothing about making mods. BTW, I love the Khajiits! They're one of my favorite races in Skyrim. "Thees one likes the ones with fur, yes?"

The hard part (making the preset - at least is hard for me ^^) you have already done. Save your preset in racemenu. Make nice screenshots and then you just need to find your preset in \SKSE\Plugins\CharGen\Presets , zip up the json file and load it up on the nexus (just follow the upload instructions on the page). Let ppl know in the description, which mods you used for the character, so they can have it look the same. edit.: btw. since you mentioned khajiits - you might be interested in INIGO (one of the best follower mods around - with a great khajiit voice)

However, I want to see about changing the lighting and textures in the game. I found a mod called Photo Mode, along with some pose mods I saw, and I've been having a lot of fun with them. The thing is, I don't like the vanilla game's lighting. I'm very picky about how my pictures are, and I don't want anything subpar if I'm going to include it in a mod. I know I may sound like a primadonna, but I want to get it right. I saw something about a thing called ENB, but I'm kind of confused about what that is. drsemmel
@RedHeadAngel I gave you incomplete information (sorry). The preset has to be packed as follows: SKSE\Plugins\CharGen (nif. and dds. files)\Presets (your json. file). It needs to match the filestructure ofc. 12 minutes ago, RedHeadAngel said: Well, that's good to know. However, I want to see about changing the lighting and textures in the game. Be careful when matching lighting mods with ENB - they have to go together well (best is, when a lighting/weather mod is made for a certain ENB preset and you use them together).

I'll have to look into it more. Right now, I'm very tired. I had a two-hour training session at Tae Kwon Do practice, and all of this has been draining my brain. Until next time!

Karna5
4 hours ago, RedHeadAngel said: The thing is, I don't like the vanilla game's lighting. I don't use ENBs nor Reshade. I control my lighting by use of time of day and weathers. Also make sure you have your game settings set to maximum (especially shadows), though for antialiasing I prefer FXAA over the newer versions because it uses less PC resources and allows sharper lines. There's a mod called Darker Nights which solves a lot of the lighting issues outdoors at night. I set it to the darkest option. For dungeons I kind of like Dark Dungeons. It doesn't make the dungeons look as dark as in its screen shots, but it does make them darker and gloomier while still letting you see without torches. Sometimes I use Karna's Color Booster at the slight change setting, but in general I'm pretty happy with using weathers and time of day for fine control. If you have an NVidia graphics card, the game filter works for Skyrim SE/AE. You can hit alt-Z and from there select game filter. For instance, you can actually play Skyrim in black and white using this which is super cool to do from time to time. For screen shots and basic films (which sadly I can't link here because they generally have skimpy clothing, so I share them in Nexus Mods Supporter image share but not in the general audience sections like here), I like to use Darkroom mod. It's fantastic. This is the only general audience safe film I have which can show the dark room lighting, but as its only a portrait it doesn't really do the Darkroom justice with its capability. I don't use facelight mods, though, because I like to control the shadows myself by positioning against light sources and because I love shadows. When I say I use time of day and weathers to control lighting for films, I mean the following. 1. Changing time of day: set gamehour to [number 0 to 23] 2. Changing weather: I used XEdit to look through the game plugins for weather IDs and tested them all using the fw command. When I found one I liked, I put it into a text file in the game's Data directory so I could call it by name at will. Examples of the fw commands I use are as follows. The name after the semicolon are the name of the text file I use (so fwmq206 would have the text file fwmq206.txt and be called by console command typing bat mq206). Inside I have the description of the weather with the semicolon and with the actual fw [weather ID] on the second line of the text file. ;fw Soul Calm Amb01 - Cloudy Sky with fog, purple hue fw 2001407 ;fw Apocryphia New fw 4034cfb ;fw BloatedMansGrottoFog, Cloudy sky with fog, dark red hue fw 105941 ;fw clear fw 81A ;fw editor cloud preview fw 10E3D4 ;fw default fw 15E ;fw eclipse (I love this one. Myself, I have a RaceMenu presets folder in my MO2 mods, loaded right after RaceMenu itself in MO's left pane.
