I lowered the resolution from 4K to 1920x1080, which helped the game run smoother. It also didn't affect the quality of my screenshots, so that's good. I'm so not surprised FYI, 4k requires four times the horsepower 1080p requires. 1080p (1920x1080) is, as you said, beautiful.

I'm honestly a little embarrassed that I didn't think of that sooner. In my defense, my screenshots were already coming out at 1920x1080, so I thought it was already at that resolution. However, after checking the game in NVidia, it showed that it was running at 3840x2160 (AKA, 4K). For whatever reason, my screenshots and game were at different resolutions? Don't ask me to explain that nonsense. Either way, my game runs much better after changing the settings in NVidia. Still not as smooth as it was originally, but hey. You can't ask for everything, can you? After all, for results like this, can't say I have much to complain about!

That is indeed a gorgeous screen shot Congratulations. If you're using the Steam overlay (F12) for your screen shots, I just checked my Steam preferences and can't see an option to scale screen shots down to 1080p. Perhaps you're using Photo Mode for the screen shots? If so, I think that does have an option to scale down the files.

I checked the mod page, and it said it matches your screen resolution. Mine's a 4K resolution, so I'm not getting what the deal is there.

My memory says there's an MCM setting, but I'll see if I'm confused *logging into skyrim*
Karna5
In your Mod Configuration setting for Photo Mode, I suggest you make sure the full screen chance is set to 100%. I'm not sure it's the culprit, but I suspect if not at 100% you might get smaller than full screen images. I could be wrong, but it's worth a try

I could be wrong, but it's worth a try I'm not seeing a Photo Mode MCM anywhere in the MCM menus. I did realize that I missed a requirement for Photo Mode, though. It's ImGui Icons. Is it safe to install it midgame? I checked the posts section of the mod page, but the author isn't being helpful. Someone else asked the same question I had, but all they said was, "...it's a folder full of PNGs." Apparently, they don't realize that not everyone has the same knowledge they do. I may have an IQ over 160, but this modding stuff is still pretty uncharted territory for me. I may be getting better at it, but still.

When I logged into skyrim to check photo mode, I accidentally committed a crime and went to jail. I have the Prison Alternative mod going, so that meant my character was whipped, eaten by cannibal vampires (and died and had to restore, but it was cool), hanged on a noose and had to try a few times to survive it, had to steal back her stuff, then got caught up in the Ravenous questline (this time a daedra lord cannibal), and I wanted to make sure my character was in a good place to save and exit. Is it safe to install ImGui mid game? Absolutely yes. I did that. p.s. With regard to your screen shots coming out 1080p earlier, I wonder if it's your ENB doing that. I guess it's a moot point now that you're actually playing 1080p, but if you ever go back to 4k, you might want to check if your ENB is hijacking your screen shots. I don't use ENBs so don't know, but it's also worth checking if you ever go back to 4k

But I agree. Unless I choose to go back to 4K, I won't worry about it. I also wanted to say that you, @drsemmel, and @AaronOfMpls, have been of great help, and I appreciate it! Thank you so much!
drsemmel
I use photo mode as well (but I use it first and foremost for showcasing my mods) - just to make my screenshots a little less atrocious lol. 2 hours ago, RedHeadAngel said: I also wanted to say that you, @drsemmel, and @AaronOfMpls, have been of great help, and I appreciate it!
