cosmicRetribution
Hello. I have been using vortex for a while now but all of a sudden I have not been able to 'log in' in the vortex application, as when I take all the steps prompted to 'authorise', nothing happens. I tried to send a feedback/bug report through the vortex app, but received an error. The following is a copy of the error report written: Summary: -When prompted to log in, a tab opens in my browser asking me to authorize. I click the authorise button in my browser. -The browser tab states that the authorization was successful. -The vortex application does not respond to the authorization, and does not log in. -When opening the browser tab and selecting the "having issues?" dropdown, a token/code appears with a button to copy. -Upon clicking the provided copy button and pasting it into the appropriate text window in vortex and then hitting 'save', nothing happens. Expected results: -Upon being told by the browser tab that authorization was successful and that I am now logged in, I am logged in. -Upon pasting the provided token into the text field and hitting save, I am logged in. Actual results: -The log in window does not react to any attempts to log in, authorize, or save token. Steps to reproduce: -I click on the log in icon. -A tab opens in my browser, prompting me to click "authorise". I do so. -The browser tab states that authorization was successful and that I am logged in, but vortex is not logged in. -I paste the log in token into the box and hit save, but nothing happens. Other steps taken: Installing the latest version of vortex [as of August 20th 2024], unininstalling and reinstalling vortex, logging out and back in to vortex, closing and re-opening all relevant applications (vortex, browser, steam), restarting my device, verifying my internet connection/appropriate wi-fi signal Upon attempting to attach a bug report file to this report I receive the following error message: "Error: Network connection closed unexpectedly. code: ECONNRESET Error: read ECONNRESET at __node_internal_captureLargerStackTrace (node:internal/errors:496:5) at __node_internal_errnoException (node:internal/errors:623:12) at TLSWrap.onStreamRead (node:internal/stream_base_commons:217:20) Called from: at null (C:\Program Files\Black Tree Gaming Ltd\Vortex\resources\app.asar\renderer.js:6451:37) at null (C:\Program Files\Black Tree Gaming Ltd\Vortex\resources\app.asar\renderer.js:6943:188) at tryCatcher (C:\Program Files\Black Tree Gaming Ltd\Vortex\resources\app.asar\node_modules\bluebird\js\release\util.js:16:23) at Promise._settlePromiseFromHandler (C:\Program Files\Black Tree Gaming Ltd\Vortex\resources\app.asar\node_modules\bluebird\js\release\promise.js:547:31) at Promise._settlePromise (C:\Program Files\Black Tree Gaming Ltd\Vortex\resources\app.asar\node_modules\bluebird\js\release\promise.js:604:18) at Promise._settlePromiseCtx (C:\Program Files\Black Tree Gaming Ltd\Vortex\resources\app.asar\node_modules\bluebird\js\release\promise.js:641:10) at _drainQueueStep (C:\Program Files\Black Tree Gaming Ltd\Vortex\resources\app.asar\node_modules\bluebird\js\release\async.js:97:12) at _drainQueue (C:\Program Files\Black Tree Gaming Ltd\Vortex\resources\app.asar\node_modules\bluebird\js\release\async.js:86:9) at Async._drainQueues (C:\Program Files\Black Tree Gaming Ltd\Vortex\resources\app.asar\node_modules\bluebird\js\release\async.js:102:5) at Async.drainQueues (C:\Program Files\Black Tree Gaming Ltd\Vortex\resources\app.asar\node_modules\bluebird\js\release\async.js:15:14) ____ I am quite stumped as to why this is happening all of a sudden or what to do. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much.
Pickysaurus
This error usually means something on your PC it interfering with Vortex's ability to communicate with the internet. Check any local firewalls or security programs
