Abramul
The impression I recieved was that the Punk movement is primarily about being yourself, and not giving an obscenity what anyone else has to say about it.
Dark0ne
To be honest the whole "not being mainstream thing" has become so mainstream it's a vicious irony. I don't have a problem with Blink 182 and have all their albums. It's classic listening for me.
Ceranex
I agree with Dark0ne. The whole not following a trend has become a trend so whos to say whos punk and whos not. Either way I dont like Good Charlotte or Blink 182.
raynman
Punk, though, now has turned on itself and has become poppy non-punk, but instead the dreaded EMO :P [doubles over and pukes all over]
Dark0ne
What's emo exactly? People tell me Funeral For A Friend and Story of the Year are EMO, and I like them ;) EDIT: Oh, and Jimmy Eat World

Dark0ne
As far as I'm aware Disturbed definately aren't punk. Funnily enough even the link you provide classes them as metal. Definately not punk. But do get down with the sickness (ooo ah ah ah ah) ;)
Darnoc
I am not a fan of Punk. And I am not a fan of the Sexpistols. But I sometimes do listen to "Die Ärzte" which is a German Punk-band. But since they are German, I don't believe most people now of them. They've made some songs which are pretty well known around here where they speak German (like "Männer sind Schweine", altough I think it is a little bit generalized). One could argue if "In Extremo" is punk or not (another German group, I know; but forgive me, I am Swiss). I would rather put them in league with groups like "Ramstein" (German metal band), altough I like In Extremo better than Ramstein, but that is just my personal taste. Morgoth
Both In Extremo and Rammstein are most definitely NOT punk. In Extremo belongs to those bands who played a medievally flavoured kind of rock/metal, Rammstein also plays some kind of rock/metal with industrial influences - but there's certainly no punk. Fishystick
Alright, if we're talking punk here, I've got one word for you people. Ramones. And don't you come around saying Ramones isn't punk, because it is.
