AugustaCalidia
BG3 patch 6_hf9 and Vortex are compatible (at least for me). When the BG3 update arrived, I was in the middle of Act 3 of a carefully modded game. Not wanting to lose what I had so painfully achieved, I opted out of the patch 7 update in favor of patch 6_hf9 available on Steam via the BG3 betas channel. This turned out to be a good decision. Once the download completed, I opened Vortex and to my great relief and joy, there was my modded game with all saves intact! While this worked for me, I don't know how well it will work for others, given their mod setup. However, I wanted to share this in case the information might be of help to someone.
Solution insomnious Posted September 10 Solution Share Posted September 10 Thanks for the information. As always, if your mods are working and you don't want cutting edge game updates, then it is always safer to hold off for a while.
AugustaCalidia
My patch 6_hf9 game was working until Vortex updated the BG3 extension a few hours ago. Now the mods do not load. Is there any way to revert to the previous extension 1.4.2? Or is extension 1.5.1 still a WIP with a solution on the near horizon? I report this, not because I'm upset about it (which I'm not), but because I previously reported that I was having no issues with BG3 patch 6_hf9 and Vortex. Perhaps I should just move on to patch 7 and start a new game. However I'm in no hurry, because I've already played the game once. I'm quite content to let all the mod dust settle before I start a new game. Thank you, Vortex team, for the superb work you do. I've been a satisfied Vortex user since its alpha days. UPDATE 1: I found a way to revert my BG3 extension to v1.4.2 so that I can continue the game with patch 6_hf9 (aka patch 6 beta). See my post below. UPDATE 2: Disregard this post. Updated extension v1.5.2 is now available, and it works. Edited September 11 by AugustaCalidia
FightingBlaze77
I just JUST got the game to work with patch 6, why did they break their own modding platform?!

And I was just about to finish my first HM run, which is why I decided not to update my game to patch7 and now I don't know what to do.
AugustaCalidia
Update to my BG3 patch 6_hf9 saga. CAVEAT EMPTOR: the following procedure is not for the faint of heart. Tread carefully. Just to see if I could do it, I reverted my BG3 extension to 1.4.2. It worked! Here are the instructions that I followed: https://github.com/Nexus-Mods/Vortex/wiki/MODDINGWIKI-Users-Troubleshooting-Downgrading-Extensions. See the last two sections of the article. Here are additional steps that I took: Reinstalled all my mods (easy to do in Vortex) Manually deployed my mods Manually exported load order to game Verified that modsettings.lsx showed all enabled mods Whether any or all of those steps are necessary, I don't know. But I took them anyway. UPDATE 1: After some experimentation, I've found that manual deployment and export are the only extra steps needed. As for reverting Vortex, you need not go back further than v1.12.0. UPDATE 2: Please ignore this post and update to BG3 extension 1.5.2, which works fine. JJStylez05
So for clarity, manually exporting/deploying and rolling back to v.112.0 which can be found on github is what you did? Once you revert Vortex you're saying the extension will automatically revert as well?
insomnious
If anyone is having issues while still on Patch 6 of Baldur's Gate 3, I'd recommend getting the latest BG3 extension for Vortex. Please check out the below post for more info.
AugustaCalidia
@JJStylez05 Once you revert Vortex, you need to manually install BG3 extension 1.4.2 per the instructions in the referenced github article. If you don't do that, then 1.4.2 will be overwritten by the updated BG3 extension. However, instead of reverting, as I did yesterday, I would urge you first to update to the latest extension 1.5.2 (released a few hours ago) to see if that works for you. I'm going to do that as soon as I finish this post. UPDATE: BG3 extension 1.5.2 works! Please disregard my post about reverting.
