Fable Anniversary - "Failed to set game mode"

Hey all. So I have downloaded Fable Anniversary, and wanted to play it modded as it was my favourite game when I was growing up. But when I try to activate/manage the game in Vortex, it just says the title, "Failed to set game mode". I have tried to follow any instructions on similar posts, but nothing has worked. I have downloaded/installed the game twice, have re-installed vortex, and have tried full shutting down PC. 

It also says that it "Failed to purge mods deployed for this game". But I've never had the game managed, let alone a mod activated. 

Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks in advance!

I had the same issue and just fixed it quite literally now. (At least it worked for me.)

In the Games tab within Vortex, you click the three dots in the corner of the Fable Anniversary game rectangle and then (provided it has the correct directory path there) you click the Manually Set Location which opens up a file browser window (Likely at the actual correct path of the game.) and you simply don't move anywhere and click Select Folder right there.

After that, you should be able to activate the game. (At least I was.)

The method by Numeris does work as of current. It looks like the mod manager needs to ask what platform you are launching the game from (ex. Steam, GoG, Xbox).
