Need help with Outfit Studio

Hi all! I am using the outfit from ELLE Assasin

and from the pictures I see on there, the nipples/areola should be showing through the gear. Mine is not, so I was wondering if I need to create something in outfit studio or not, so I could make this look more realistic. I am using Skyrim SE 1.6.1170 and have attached my mod list ( just in case there is something off there too )

Any help is welcome and invited! I have searched google for help but nothing yet AND have reached out to other modders/creators with no response yet, so please let me know if you can help, TIA!!!

Your mod list for this is irrelevant, except maybe the skin you are using has smaller areolas.  The rest of it really depends on which preset you use to build the outfit, and which variant of the outfit you equip.

I can take a look at the mod once home tonight.   I doubt you need to mess with it in OutfitStudio.

I didn't have that mod installed, but out of curiosity I just downloaded it and installed it.

At least the 3BA version of it has no nipple slip. If there are screen shots with nipple slip, the reasons are possibly:

a) the person taking the screen shot had altered the outfits in Outfit Studio to have nipple slip (I've done that in Fallout 4 outfits), or

b) the person taking the screen shot is using a non-BnP body texture which has larger nipples than BnP (I use BnP), or

c) the person taking the screen shot is using RaceMenu's 3BA sliders to increase areola size significantly. Doing this would increase the body without altering the outfit, or

d) it's possible the non-3BA versions of the outfit could have nipple slip. But the 3BA version definitely does not with the BnP body textures.

On a side note, I noticed the group XML file for the outfit is incorrect for 3BA. I had to fix it to use the "3BA" group rather than the "CBBE" group so the 3BA sliders would work.

Post script: I've been more thoroughly investigating the Elle Elven Assasin in Outfit Studio. (side note: that mispelling of Assassin in the mod drives me crazy, but oh well.)

The author of the mod went out of her (or his) way to prevent nipple slip in the 3BA version of the mod. I noticed the Areola Size slider is not present in the dress project at all. That means the body will always be built with zero areola size sliders.

If the author wanted to allow nipple slip, then the body would allow the areola size slider, and the dress would be built without conforming to that slider. This would allow body presets with large areolas to get nipple slip.

But by outright deleting that slider form the project, nipple slip is not possible on the BnP body texture with 3BA unless you force it with RaceMenu or fix the outfit with Outfit Studio (using the method I mentioned above at the very least).

Summary of what's wrong with the project:

a) the project needs to have the Areola size slider (not the pull slider, the actual areola size slider).

b) the reference body needs to have that slider (not talking about the dress but the body itself)

c) the dress needs to not be conformed to that slider. This means if it's conformed to it, the slider data needs to be deleted from that dress part, or better yet, when conforming the dress initially, the areola slider needs to be unchecked, and then the dress conformed using "Conform Selected" rather than "Conform All" options.

Post Post Script: I'm skeptical this outfit is built to the 3BAv2 body. I just tested deleting the old body and importing a proper 3BA reference body, and I notice the shape is different.  So not only are several of the 3BAv2 sliders missing, but the shape itself of the shoulders don't match.

It's a fairly simple dress with no concern about uniboob, so theoretically you could:

a) delete the body and genitals from the project

b) import reference body 3BA

c) select the dress parts (shift-LMB or ctrl-LMB whichever way you prefer)

d) reposition the dip part of the dress to have a bit of nipple slip if you wish (not required)

e) inflate a tiny bit over the nipples so they don't punch through the dress

f) copy bone weights (you wouldn't do that if the dress had cloth physics or uniboob or portions which don't touch the body, but in this project it would be okay)

g) unselect the Areola Size slider

h) with the dress parts still selected (but not the body parts selected) use the "Conform Selected" to conform all the sliders except Areola Size.

i) Save the project (or save as with slightly different names but same output directory and file)

j) exit Outfit Studio and BodySlide, open it and build it.

It's not perfect that way. The author should really do it and make sure she/he likes the bone weights and spend time with that, but for a normal mod user the above should be fine on this Outfit.

I have only looked at 3BA version, so it may be different for BHUNP or with UBE patch.

But for 3BA:  Areola showing will likely depend on skin textures used, including what options were picked at install.   I.e. for me, my installed Fair skin version showed a bit of areola, but  most others (Demoniac, Pure, Bijin, Diamond, SG etc did not).    As to nipples defined through dress - again, could be for BHUNP/UBE.   The 3BA version actually has nipples deleted from the underlying body, and most nipple-shaping sliders are either removed or not conformed to dress.

My process to fix was similar to one described above, except I

  1. Deleted the 3BA body/genitals
  2. Cleared all slider data
  3. Save As - added 'v2' in dislay name and Shape Data File
  4. Reloaded it.
  5. Loaded reference 'Sliders CBBE 3BA UniLowerCurtain'   That reference is really best for anything with a skirt.
  6. Inflated a couple areas of dress that clipped (over shoulders and nipples)
  7. Conformed All sliders to all dress parts except panties
  8. Deleted the reference.
  9. Loaded in the actual 3BA body as reference.
  10. Copied Bone Weights.
  11. Conformed sliders for panties.
  12. Went through all sliders, checking if any caused clipping/distortion, and adjusted those.   Only a few needed this.

Here is a result, using a preset with a larger Areola and more prominent nipple, with Fair skin.

Cleared all slider data

Since this is turning into a proper tutorial thread, I'd like to mention it's not actually necessary to clear slider data before loading a new reference because the load reference  menu asks you whether you want to keep existing zap sliders and/or existing conform sliders.

If I'm converting from the same type of body to a new reference, I generally keep zap sliders, and I usually uncheck the conform sliders box unless there's a custom slider I want to keep which isn't in the reference body I'm importing.

On a side note, your character looks pretty, scorrp10. Nice work on your testing 🙂
