chefbt
Hey - I need some guidance please! I just got a new computer and want to transfer everything so I don't lose my mods/games/saves. I have searched and can't find consistent advice. I am using A Story Wealth plus other mods through Vortex. I assume I need to start by installing Steam and FO4 on the new system - do I then need to go through the downgrade process again? What folders need to get copied over and when.? I am hoping to pick up where I left off as I have hundreds of hours on this play-through. Also, can I install in a new directory? Thanks so much!! subaverage
The three Fallout 4 folders are: The Fallout 4 main game folder, the Fallout 4 folder under ....\Documents\My Games and C:\Users\"your username"\AppData\Local\Fallout4. Save them all. On a new computer you will have to download the game again. On Steam this means next-gen. Start the game so that it creates it's folders in My Games and under Appdata. You can now overwrite these folders and the main game folder with your save. I don't know what you would have to save and copy for your mod manager except you would use NMM. But the game should work again. In case you had a pre next-gen you need to take the precautions for not upgrading again. subaverage
You have NMM? Copy and save: C:\Games\Nexus Mod Manager\Fallout4 Play it back after you reinstalled NMM Edited October 11, 2024 by subaverage
