gabrielrock19
Aiight, this'll sound a little weird, but... Is there a mod that takes a "snapshot" of your total armor rating to save it somewhere else (a variable) so that it can be quickly reapplied if you unequip your armor and wear something else? What I'm asking for specifically is a way to keep armor protection while wearing clothes from a clothing mod you like, and not having to worry in the slightest about defense. If there are no mods that do this, could you please suggest a console command that can add or subtract the armor rating and not mess up the game? melvinius
One of my favorite console commands is "TIM" - Toggle Immortal Mode. The game plays exactly as normal in every respect, but you cannot die. It's better than TGM or Toggle God Mode because that one does weird stuff like you don't use magicka or actually take damage. Under TGM in some Bethsoft games you don't use ammo, and you have unlimited carry weight. BTW, that makes TGM a useful console command if you are overburdened and cannot fast travel but don't want to make multiple trips to shuffle your stuff around. I have a mod that enables "TIM" at game launch. Once active, it stays active for the entire run session even if you load a save. You still take damage when using TIM, you just cannot die at 0 health. Works in Starfield and Fallout 4 too. In Starfield, it will even keep your ship from blowing up in space combat. I say this because the armor rating is probably kind of inaccessible and what you describe is going to require a lot of scripting, which is always unreliable. You won't ever have 100% certainty that your armor rating is currently what you think it is. So if it's just death prevention while wearing what you want that you're after, TIM is the way to go.

gabrielrock19
I kind of solved my problem though. I used a command called "player.forceAV damageresist 333". 333 because it's half the maximum cap when you have no armor. I just wanted to be able to wear well-designed or badass armors from other mods without worrying about the AR. So if I'm completely naked my char keeps half of the maximum AR and is only able to reach the full number by wearing armor. Also I really dislike the idea of your character depending solely on gear to tank attacks, which works well for realistic games but not for fantasy games like skyrim.

I used to be a purist back in the day, but at this point I've beaten the game so many times I play for the experience and the aesthetics are a big part of that. So I get where you're coming from. You could alter their ratings. When I've done so before, I've used Proteus to change clothing into virtual armor and give them armor ratings
