Paleblood45
So modding this game has been quite the tumultuous journey, but I digress. I will try to keep it short. I am experiencing frequent and reproduceable crashes while driving through parts of Night City. Specifically, these seem to happen at particular points in the map. Through my experimentation I realized that certain mods may be to blame. Psycho crowds, Nova crowds and Nova Traffic Density don't seem to agree with Not so Good Draw Distance. Disabling or eliminating one of these seems to fix my crashes. But it gets weird... I also have Ultra Plus engine control and hotfixes installed, in the CET menu it has a little tick named "not so good draw distance compatibility". Now in order for my game NOT to crash, I have to have the Not so Good Draw Distance Compatibility ticked to ON, but also have Not so Good Draw Distance set to OFF in the mod settings. I also have a 14900k intel cpu for the record. Ever since the new BIOS dropped my games have been almost bulletproof. Could it be a cpu issue? It could be. Could it be a mod compatibility issue? Also could be. Any information/anecdotals would be useful. No other game in my library has given me quite the amount of issues as this game. Dragon32
I've got a RTX 3080, 10GB, but I've dropped Textures to Medium. I was getting a CTD as I was running out of VRAM. Use something like MSI Afterburner to see if something similar's happening to you. I dunno about the Not So Good Draw Distance:Ultra Plus compatibility I'm afraid. I used to use Ultra Plus but stopped.

I am gaming on a 4090 so I would assume VRAM should not be an issue....
Dragon32
Quote any reason in particular why you stopped using Ultra Plus? I just got sick of tweaking the thing and wanted to play the game. 4090 should be enough, yes. lol

CP2077 seems to crash if you save scum during quests when you load a save so I would ignore those..... 1) Check your hardware ..... do memetestx86 at least overnight, and stress test. Consider turning xmp off 2) Win 11 24H2 makes my system hard and soft crash with mods activated ..... with a light load order it will run for hours .... but eventually crash so hard that I need to reboot. 23H2 does not even with my full load order. 3) Draw distance mods have to be tuned to the game version and hard to QC .... consider doing without. 4) Psycho crowds, Nova crowds and Nova Traffic Density is absolutely bombing your CPU ..... pick one. Nova Traffic has to be set up exactly right with custom vehicles and a mess up in the XML car database will cause CTD 5) High crowd density and ultra settings is hard for any current CPU especially on 4K with RT 6) Run for a while without all the DLSS and other trickery to see what your real frame rate it and how much it is fluctuating. Have realistic settings for your CPU/GPU and activate the trickery with those settings. 7) Ignore all the sites making claims about frame rates ..... I can literally make my frame rate anything just by picking a spot to test. If you want to actually play the game stutter free .... there is a square in central Night City that has many NPCs and traffic flowing in every direction .... If your system and load order can hold a steady 60fps there when moving you avatar and the camera .... you have realistic settings and mods. 9tfall
maybe its not problem from mods, maybe its just issue between VRAM capacity and mods and mod setting, and maybe its also related to saves or some deep game mechanism..... after i removed Nova Traffic which pollute a save of me to causing crash constantly, i happened to experience a similar problem recently, and i tried many times to remove some mods and add them back......, then remove some mod else then add some back..... for hours and then finally i gave up and thought it might be another ruined save then load a save before, problems disappeared, i turned the mods on, everything appears FINE then i fast traveled to some locations which previously cause CTD instantly and drove fast at some other locations which cause CTD instantly before AT THIS SAVE, everythings is fine AN IDEA CAME TO ME, i played around for a while just for sure, fast travel..... driving fast..... and fast travel...... and driving fast....... then i LOADED THE PREVIOUS PROBLEMATIC SAVE, issues were all GONE like a charm, broken textures..... crashing to desktop...... stuttering..... ALL GONE, even with all the mods i had suspected turned on. so... after this i realized that the mechanism of this is far beyond i can understand, at least to me for now..... i write my experience here, hope it may help you... Paleblood45
Might've been a cpu issue after all, RMA'd my machine which was running a 14900k intel cpu for a brand new one with the same specs except it was running a 9950x from AMD, these issues disappeared. Ah the joys of PC gaming lol
