KbTiger127
So, I recently installed and modded FO4, and overall, I love it. But there's just one problem: after about a minute, the game starts to flicker lightly. It's kinda like if those film tape intros were overlayed with the game. It is so bad that on the first night that I played, the pause menu got burned onto the screen. It faded, but I think it might be the flickering that's to blame. I don't know anything about modding or game specs or anything technical, so this might be a problem with my laptop, but I would like a mod that removes the flicker if it is a problem with my game. I've tried other flicker remover mods, and none of them seem to work.
PJMail
If the whole screen flickers it could be a video driver issue (game incompatibility). I have certainly had video games that did not work properly with certain versions of video drivers (as crazy as that sounds). It tends to get more common with older games as the driver writers aim optimisations at current games - sometimes to the detriment of older games. Can you give more details on your machine, and what actually flickers?

pepperman35
It might be important to know how you modded the game.

pepperman35
First, did you experience screen flickering with the unmodded game? Also, what mods did you install and did you ensure all requirements for those mods were met.
RaidersClamoring
To troubleshoot this type of thing from the ground up I highly recommend chatGPT. Free version will do fine. This is likely not a game issue or it would have been one of very early patches or mods. Probably not a mod issue either if the whole screen flickers unless you installed some low level mod that interfaces directly with your gpu. KbTiger127
ChatGPT? How will that help? Also, yeah I did experience it with the game unmodded. The mods I have installed are: - Settlements reborn - Classic holstered weapons - Revolver shotgun animation replacer - Revolver shotgun texture - Unofficial FO4 Patch - Mod Config Menu - Cheat Terminal - Achievements - Visible weapons - and We Are The Minutemen
RaidersClamoring
2 hours ago, KbTiger127 said: ChatGPT? How will that help? ChatGPT can give you a concise list of things to troubleshoot, including exactly how to, if you paste your specs and explain your problem in a prompt. You can then ask follow up questions as you check the items, get some resulting information or run into additional problems. No human would have the time nor the patience to do that, especially over the internet and for free. It's like it was made for exactly this. pepperman35
Circling back to PJMail's comment...do you know what kind of graphics card is in your laptop? As PJMail already mentioned, it could very well be a graphics driver issue. You can update your laptop's graphics driver through the Device Manager on Windows or through the manufacturer's website or app. Windows Open the Device Manager Select Display adapters Right-click on your graphics card Select Properties Go to the Driver tab Click Update Driver Select Search automatically for updated driver software If Windows finds an update, install it Manufacturer's website or app You can also update your graphics driver using the manufacturer's website or app. For example, you can update NVIDIA, AMD, and Intel graphics drivers using their respective apps.
