Chalto Posted January 31 Posted January 31 Pardon me if this is in the wrong section, but the latest update to NMS is a major one, and has changed where mods are now installed. The old method of installation via Vortex was in the folder structure as... "No Man's Sky Directory>\GAMEDATA\PCBANKS" the new method is almost the same, but ... "No Man's Sky Directory>\GAMEDATA\" Each time I load Vortex, it can't find the mods, and keeps asking to "fix" them, so how do we get Vortex to put the mods into the new folder structure? I can move them manually, but then what do I pay my sub for if Vortex doesn't work as intended? TIA
rawkinrex Posted February 1 Posted February 1 Vortex does not use the new Mods folder location for No Man's Sky. The mechanism by which mods work is different from before. Besides, the mod path has changed after Worlds Part II updated. Refer to the following: Before: No Man's Sky\GAMEDATA\PCBANKS\MODS After: No Man's Sky\GAMEDATA\MODS
Tadian Posted February 2 Posted February 2 I wondered why my Mods stopped working and you can find almost nothing about this problem. Any solution for this other than just not using Vortex till they update?
7531Leonidas Posted February 2 Posted February 2 If the game extension is needing an update, then yes. Search for something like 'game extension No Man's Sky', or 'game extension update No Man's Sky'. Might have to use AND in between each word to get the specific phrase in results. Disclaimer - I do not have this game at all.
Community Manager Pickysaurus Posted February 2 Community Manager Posted February 2 This is because the developers have changed the mod format without any notice (that I've seen?). We've got it on our list to look into soon!
Chalto Posted February 5 Author Posted February 5 Well it looks like they've fixed it Anyway, I was basically installing the mods via Vortex as normal, but NMS couldn't 'see' them. All I then did was to just copy & paste the 'installed' mods from "No Man's Sky Directory>\GAMEDATA\PCBANKS" into... "No Man's Sky Directory>\GAMEDATA\" Each time there were updates, I just updated as normal, then deleted the 'old' "No Man's Sky Directory>\GAMEDATA\Mods\" folder, then redid the above steps. Now of course I don't have to, unless it breaks again
Solution Chalto Posted February 5 Author Solution Posted February 5 I had posted about this last Friday at Anyway, they have fixed it. Mods now install in the correct 'new' folder structure.
Egor17 Posted February 9 Posted February 9 Thanks heaps, was getrting real frustrated wondering why none of my mods were loading. Thanks again.
Egor17 Posted February 12 Posted February 12 I installed latest version Vortex 1.13.7 It still insists PCBANKS\MODS ?? Even creates it's own mods folder after I deleted the folder.
