Hi

if know the tool for this conversion, could tell me?

after I try se to le conversion, when run the skyrim, happened ctd.

as reason, the latest 2023/12 SE update changed FormID of "Update.esm", so esp couldn't find the FormID as master plugin

also currently existing editor script tools that created by other modders couldn't fix this.

so I try direct change the Form ID of "Error Could not be resolved" to null value so that, this was fixed. but ctd again happened on other cell.

I think the manual fomr id change are not good, so if know how to change form id automatically, could tell me?

for example, LE of "Update.esm" are not including "01003053" of music type Form ID, so I hope tool that change to LE formID to relate.

If solution find easily, I will write this.

thx

Backporting of plugins (ESM & ESP) is not supported by Bethesda.

Here is a breakdown of the common file types found in SSE in regard to "backporting":

  • script files (PSC / PEX): As long as they do not use SSE specific code, could potentially be back ported as-is.
  • texture files (DDS): These would need to be re-compressed into older formats acceptable by the LE game if using a newer compression type.
  • mesh files (NIF):  Depending upon the type of mesh in use, there may need to be modifications made to prevent crashing.  Thorough testing would be needed to verify whether a particular SSE mesh works properly in LE
  • Plugins (ESM, ESP & ESP flagged as ESM):  The 32-bit Creation Kit was not updated to properly support the loading, modification and saving of 64-bit plugins. Nor was the LE game updated to properly support the loading and usage of 64-bit plugins. As such some "conversions" may appear to work. But it is unknown what could have been stripped out during the "conversion" from 64-bit to 32-bit and how it may affect usage of the plugin throughout gameplay.
  • Plugins (ESL): LE has no capacity to load these.  The 32-bit Creation Kit has no idea what to do with them.  Any such plugin would have to be re-built from scratch as an ESP.
  • Plugins (SKSE DLL):  These are dependent upon the version of SKSE they were built with.  The LE SKSE and SSE SKSE have different hooks into the game, as such, DLL plugins would need to be re-done with the LE SKSE.

Not sure why you want to backport to LE from SE.  You would be better off looking for LE mods that do what you want rather than trying to port something designed for a newer release of the same game on an "updated" game engine.

Just to give an idea:

Update.esm for LE is 1484K

Update.esm for SE is 18432K - more that 10x the size.

If an SE mod is dependent  on things in Update.esm it is potentiually dependent  on a whole lot of new stuff that was added to the game long after LE became a dead product.   Which never did and never will exist in LE.  When it comes to backporting simpler stuff, you can use Cathedral Assets Optimizer to downgrade meshes and textures - and pretty sure there are some animation converters as well.   Scripts might have to be scoured for functions that will not work in LE (mostly SKSE64 stuff).    But if a mod is heavily dependent on content exclusive to SE, a backport just ain't gonna happen.

On the other hand, practically any LE mod that has no .dll plugin should work in SE.   99% of the time, you just drop it in and it works.   And any worthy LE mods that do have plugins, would have been ported to SE.   Or better alternatives exist.  IMHO, it is long past time  (to the tune of 7+ years) to ditch LE.   I did it back in 2016.

I think your answer are my answer.

texture and meshes are easy to convert, but esp FormID relation are hard because actually, it' new creation the esp on LE.

the some mod that are like quest, adventure or weapon, there aren't in SE version, so I using LE but, your answer's are fact about from ID.

for example case, when SE esp use the Form ID of survival feature, there aren't ID on LE.

currently, I don't have resource enough to migrate to SE so, if I have opportunity to SE version after obtain free time, any resources and new pc, I might install se.

as an ideal, I hope install the both LE and SE environments in future.

thank you your answers.
