Zincwing Posted July 18 Posted July 18 I saw a mod which was labeled "safe to use" and downloaded it, but my antivirus went off. I checked the linked virustotal report behind the label, and it said that some security vendors had labeled it as unsafe. I won't say which mod, in case it was a false positive, but does Nexusmods update virustotal check information for existing mods after they have been verified the first time? If not, please do so. Virus definitions are updated all the time, best to check existing files too.

Zincwing Posted July 24 Author Posted July 24 After pressing that button, the checkmark is still green, even though the file in question has been flagged like by 14 different security vendors. Does that mean I have to report it? What if it is a false positive, will I get banned for making a wrongful report?
Community Manager Pickysaurus Posted July 30 Community Manager Posted July 30 If you're genuinely concerned, please use the report option. I will say though, all VirusTotal vendors are not created equal. If you've never heard of the ones that mark it as malicious, it's potentially just a poor quality detectorÂ
