Hello. I got a new PC last week and have been spending this week rebuilding modded Skyrim AE from scratch.

I've been running into countless load order related issues plus a bunch of incompatibilities (stuff which used to work on the old PC but simply won't on this PC).

This said, I'm at a stage where my game is stable, but most of the NPCs have default zero-slider bodies. I don't use OBody or any form of random body generation. I do use CBBE 3BA.

My own character's body and many NPCs are fine, but about half the women in the world are zero sliders (regardless of weight I apply using setnpcweight).

Using the more informative console I've identified that a couple of mods in specific are having this issue:

  • Full Random NPC Pack
  • Interesting NPCs
  • Prison Alternative Bad Ends

I also use the High Poly NPCs mod over the first two mods above.

I looked inside Full Random NPCs plugins and Interesting NPCs plugins, and they have a zillion records, so I don't think I'm up for manually changing every record even if I knew what to change.

Does anyone know what I can do to fix it so that NPCs from those mods use the 3BA bodies built in BodySlide and not just default bodies?

Thanks 🙂

(Also, to be clear, when I looked up in more informative console a guard whose body was immune to set weight and who had default body, the console said the last change on the guard was Full Random NPCs. That's how I know whatever is going on is related to those mods.)

quick look at the file contents for those mods, they don't use custom bodies or armors... that said...

take that guard you consoled, see what he has equipped in 32 slot, verify file path for that equipment, then check the meshes of the final overwrite in whichever mod manager you use... if both _0 and _1 are the same, whatever bodyslide you used either didn't work or didn't include various armor sets

since Full Random NPC Pack was the final record overwrite, unless you made changes to it, it should use vanilla races, body, and armors... as a just in case, you could check that guard's record and make sure his weight isn't set at 0, maybe verify a few other NPCs as well

last note, in my experience, setnpcweight isn't an automatic update, though it often does alter head texture rendering when activated... I had to disable/enable npc to make weight take effect... if you did that, sorry for the presumption

I'm grateful for your reply and suggestions, radiusrsatti 🙂

With regard to enable/disable *Nods* Yeah, I had tried that but didn't think to mention it. Also, I wasn't actually able to figure out which record it was in the plugin because there are simply so many records.

With regard to outfits, I had also tried clicking the NPC and typing "unequipall" because in the past I have noticed as well that sometimes pseudo-nude body meshes are equipped onto bodies creating issues.

You're also right to have suggested race records. With Prison Alternatives Bad Ends plugin, for instance, I was able to figure out that the female NPCs were set to fox race instead of a traditional race, so for that I created an override plugin and fixed them to be normal nord race.

On the Full Random NPC Pack, even though the more informative console didn't mention it, I do know the HiPoly pack overwrites the original mod.

I had noticed that the HiPoly pack didn't work well with Immersive Wenches this installation (after countless hours of dealing with that I gave up and switched to a different HP override mod).

Perhaps the HP overrides are clobbering the Full Random NPC Pack as well. It worked in my old PC and installation, but a lot what used to work in the old build isn't working in this one.

You helped a lot by looking at the plugin. I can't thank you enough.

I suppose my next step will be to try uninstalling the HP pack override for that mod, and if it fixes the problem I may have to consider uninstalling the Random NPCs mod as it's not natively HP.

For reference, this is the HP overrides mod which is not working with Immersive Wenches and which I currently have overwriting the Random NPC mod. It used to work, but this installation maybe it just doesn't.

This is just an informational follow up. I tested uninstalling the HP random NPC overrides, and that did not correct the issue with some NPCs being stuck at zero sliders.

I'm stumped for now and will give up until I get new ideas to try. If I figure it out I'll come back to this thread and post the solution.

To get around it for the time being I just did the "recycleactor" command until I got an NPC whose body worked.

Unless all of your NPCs are running around in the nude, your issue is with armors, not bodies.

Weight-wise, you can check a given NPC weight using More Informative Console.    Open console, click an NPC, mouse over the down arrow on the info panel and press Shift to scroll down until you get to 'Appearance' section.   Mouse over that and press Shift - it should tell you the Weight.

But yeah, you need to check what exactly that NPC is wearing,  and track that Armor  -  find its Armor record, then its ArmorAddon record, and the .nif model  file used.    Frankly, it sounds like you at some point ran a Batch build of all vanilla armors in BodySlide with a 'Zeroed Sliders' preset.    Or maybe you picked 'Slim' when installing CBBE?
