Question race/sex/look change - game in progress?

I've downloaded some custom stuff/mods and tested them on the newly started characters in Oblivion. Meshes, textures, skins etc...

Yet as I have saves in progress, some characters quite advanced, is it possible to change character's race/sex/look in the game in progress? If so how?

you should be able to go into showracemenu

but i think that also changes your stats as well

That's only if you hit the button when you're done. The procedure to change your race mid game without messing up stats would be..

1. Press ~ to open the console

2. Type "showracemenu" (no quotes)

3. Adjust your race/gender/appearance but DO NOT hit the finished/done button

4. Leaving the showracemenu box open, press ~ again

5. Hit escape and make a new save

6. Hit escape again and load the new save
