Hello. I have been playing FO3 lately and decided for a change of pace to try Oblivion. I have the GOTY Edition and it is loaded onto my D Drive. However I have no idea which manager to use. I have seen OMOD and OBMM I downloaded and set up the Oblivion Mod Manager but not sure if it working. I do not seem to be able to convince 7 Zip to extract to it....any advice on which is better to use and which Mods to get to improve on the way the characters look, facial wise especially would be deeply appreciated. If needed i will do a complete uninstall/reinstall to get this right. I have the 7-Zip extractor allready and made a new folder on my desktop for any Oblivion Mods recomended. Thank You for Your help in advance.

OBMM is Oblivion Mod manager, OBSE is Oblivion Script Extender. They are totally different things - both are recommended. They will work together.

OBMM has a self installer go to the site - here: http://timeslip.chorrol.com/obmm_download.html

Download and Install using the self installer.

OBMM works outside of the game, You run OBMM to manage your add on mods. When you are finished, you can launch Oblivion from OBMM, OR exit OBMM and then start the game - any changes you made, such as mod load order, will take effect then.

OBSE is an addition to the Oblivion script language. It has no effect on the vanilla game and is only needed if you have a mod that requires it. You really don't need to know anything about it to use it except it must start first. Use the OBSE launcher to start Oblivion OR use the Oblivion launcher built into OBMM, it will start the game with OBSE if it is installed.

Get OBSE here. http://obse.silverlock.org/

Read the install instructions as it does not install like a mod.

how to install a mod using OBMM:

First- do not unzip the file Then do this!

ok,click create omod, add the mod name and author where indicated.

then click add archive, the mod will then be broken down automatically. When its ready you'll see some writing in the big box under file path

Then click create omod, answer yes and omod will be created.

you'll get a green square in your mod list, click on it and then click activate!

all done! mod is now active
