Jaederius
I am trying to put together a little town (actually a very large one that is far beyond my means but I'm a lunatic and that makes it ok)... And there aren't very many "common" style building meshes in the master file (I don't have any of the expansions, so I don't know if they do).......so...does anyone here know where I could find some good ones?...nothing particularly fancy...just something other than the very few that are there... I've got 3dsm7, so if someone could send me 3dsmax files for the buildings I could make my own changes if you wouldn't mind converting them back... Well, I must away now, so good bye and thanks for any help I can get... Jaederius

ThetaOrionis01
There's a lot you can do with the existing meshes, though..... http://homepage.ntlworld.com/thetaorionis/...iorScreen02.JPG (Yep, it's Iredior. Still being worked on, and I may even get around to doing a website update. At some point.)
edstamos1
i love how iredior looks so much more realistic. the buildings clustering together is typical of a medieval town (easier to defend primarily) and looks to cater to a more reasonably sized population than anything on vvardenfell. I was thinking of editing the towns of morrowind to look a little more clustered as well, but i'm really lazy. maybe if i spend a little time modding i won't be able to stop :) as for the original topic, what do you mean by common? the imperial meshes and tilesets are the closest to what you'd find in medieval europe. i'm not sure if you can edit the existing meshes in 3dsmax (convert the nif files to 3ds format i guess) since i don't do any modelling (I suck). But if you can, just change the textures on the existing meshes to suit your tastes. the .nifs are all on the construction set cd. also, if the problem is you can't find them in the construction set, i think they're all under statics. edit:for editting meshes, refer to peregrines posthttp://forum.gamingsource.net/index.php?showtopic=13520
Jaederius
ED: Yeah - I was referring to converting the models to files I could use with another editor, sending them to me so I could change them around, and then getting them back to be converted back to .nif files... And by "common" I mean the specific style "common" - they go generally with imperial - imperial being the stone fortress style, common being the other light-colored buildings with exterior wood framing and grey stone foundations- e.g. ex_common_building_01. Theta Orionis: That's a really good idea (and, by the way, I really like how you've done Iredior), and it's what I intend to do for some larger buildings - but there is very little room for variation in making small houses out of the few meshes available. D@N: lol thanks - I'll do that. That's probably my best option for finding something. --- I'm doing some searches now...surely something will turn up. Still, if anyone is willing to send some models to me and get them back to convert back to .nif format, I'd be really grateful. Jaederius

Jaederius
Thanks (ED) - I'll look at those. I'm at the library now so I can't download anything, but I'll check them out when I get home. Jaederius
Arturun
And don't forget Zyndaar's Modular set! He used some modelling program to split the buildings into pieces, e.g. you now can have a wall, roof, etc. They also come in 4 texture variations: regular common, another similar to common, imperial (all imperial stone), and nord (shack for the wood, nord stone for the foundations) Lemme see if I can find that link...ZYNDAAR'S MODULAR COMMON SET And also look here, about 10secs of browsing found me 3 different mods relating to common buildings:-ELDERSCROLLS CENTRAL RELEASE FORUM and thank you for asking, by my searching, I also found THIS! It's a modular castle set by zyndaar that I've never seen before :D If I find more, I'll list them here Happy building,Arturun
