Replacing Textures in Mods

Missingno

Recommended Posts

Hello, first time poster, but I have recently decided to take interest in my character becoming a Lich. Now, to do this, I found two mods that each are very decent.

Number One: http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=22152 by ToastyFresh

Number Two: http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=6002 by jackmix.

I really like the way Number Two sets up the Lich as being a permenant form, able to switch back to a human disguise. Overall, I like the way number two handles the lich itself. What I don't like about number Two is that the "Lich" you become is simply a skeleton in a black robe.

However, Number One has a lich model I truely like, but the way it sets up becomming a lich as a Once a Day power is what I don't like.

Is there anyway for me to replace the textures in Lich file Two so that it will use the ones from Lich file One for the lich form? If so, can I get some help on how exactly to do that?

Or if there are any other good mods that involve lichs you would like to recommend...

Thanks for reading and helping!

It's possible, and the "Number One" has a lich model that you like, infact, it's the vannila's Lich model.

It's maybe possible to change the script of the "Number One" mod (I bet it's possible), so instead become a Lich once a day, you can do it anytime by simply changing the script. If you however finally sucseeds, I suggest don't upload the file at TESNexus.

But here's a bad news, I don't know if changing a simple script in someone's mods (even you don't restribute it), it may be safe to ask for permission first.

What if you tried Postal Dude's Modular Oblivion Enhanced. It's been a couple of versions since I played with it, but if I recall correctly it did have lich module which I thought was pretty cool and used the default lich model.

See what you think: http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=7902

If I had to ask permission for all the tweaking I do for my own game which not another soul alive will see as an uploaded mod, I'd be at it for the rest of my life. I think that what's on your computer is your business so long as you don't share it with anyone.

Thank you Savage and Ancient for your insightful posts. And Simon, since switched a model would inevitably involve switching colors....It does have to do with textures, lol.

And yeah, I really don't think I would need to ask permission to change something for my own use... As for the Modular Oblivion Enchanced, I am interested and intend to try it out.
