Arcane vrs. Martial:The final showdown!

I thought of a kick ass concept enlightened by all worlds of fantasy and fiction/adventure.

The ultimate warior showdown. THE CRAFT vrs. THE FORCE.

It occured to me while writting my story, influenced mainly from playing morowind and other dugeons and dragons theme based games. And ofcourse great stories and movies(tolkien, the wheel of time, star wars, xcalibur, merlin and others)

The thought occured to me whence reading the updates covering the new combat systems, namely, free spellcasting, instead of spell setting.

I always despised the limited use of telekenesis. The game should implement, (directed at charachters), either a pulling or pushing force. Pulling can pull the enemies weapon loos from it's grasp, and pull it forwards in a face smashing trip. Pushing culd have the adverse affect knocking the basterd backwards. Telekenesis canalso influence npc's for persuasion and deterence.

Anyways, for majika weildng you build up majika strength. FOr the force, you build up force strength. After the dominence of the realm that these two ultrapowers thrive from create incredible warriors of massive potential. And a showdown between one power against the other, to make a killer fight. I think tha'd kick ass. And for the force weilder, if set in old times, he'd weild a supped up and enchanted against majika- dai-katana. The spell caster would obviously be a battlemage or warwizard, weilding staff and longsword. Majika verses force, arcane verses martial arts. The idea just seemed overwhelming to satisfaction of bloodlust. Who else thinks so?

A nice idea but absolutely impossible within the Morrowind engine. Maybe you should play Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy? That has force powers and all just like you described. :P Pretty fun too.

No way you could get force powers into Morrowind though, let alone another "force" power bar, not without hacking the engine and altering it which would be very illegal.

Or how about the third power, THE SHADOW. The assassin who skips the whole fight and just murders THE CRAFT and THE FORCE in their sleep. Why bother with giant swords when a poisoned dagger in the back works far better?

I've always thought that the Force of the Star Wars Galaxy and the Magicka of Nirn are equivalent. If Nirn is a primitive planet in the Star Wars universe, it's inhabitants are simply calling the Force by a different name... Magicka. The Jedi and Sith on the star-travelling worlds of the galaxy are manipulating the same underlying power in a slightly different way and calling it the Force.

Maybe I'm wrong. I'm not an expert on the Star Wars Mythos. How are Magicka and the Force different?

Your alignment affects which forcepowers you can use. According to my starwars games.

On a differnt note, anyone remember the old star wars game, x-wing?
