bigdaddycool9999
hey there. not sure if thats the right place. please move this post if you consider it to be the wrong place, but i have a really important question. pretty sure you noticed a certain copycat opening up business. at first, i thought its a joke. but, whoever the troll is that made it, steps over a certain line of respect for those that create mods. lately i noticed that this person keeps updating the amounts of his content, and he basically mirrors any mod he can get his hands on, if its from nexus, steam, tesalliance, ll, or whatever site.this, quite frankly, p me off like hell. in case there is anything in preparation to deal with this guy, if you prepare for war, i would gladly love to join forces this one time. please pm me if theres a place to join. if not, well, then nevermind. after all him upgrading and growing is primarily nexus loss, mine only under secondary aspects that are of no ones concern here. still, i have a reason to hate him already now. and i wont tolerate that if he continues like that. sincerely, good ol daddy
Oubliette
 Entirely too vague to be of much use. Are you saying that someone is uploading copy cat mods to Nexus for the purpose of linking mirrors offsite? Or that someone has set up a mod hosting site similar to nexus and is stealing mods from here to host there? In the case of the first issue, report the mods and let the moderators deal with him. In the second case, meh. I don't think there's much that Nexus can do about it and even if there was they tend to frown on openly maligning people from other sites here in the forums, might want to try using the contact us feature if you want them to do anything specific. BlackRampage
I'm guessing the OP is referring to a certain Russian copycat site the OP mentioned in this topic Wouldn't exactly be the first copycat site though, let alone the first site that steals content from the Nexus (and other sites). JimboUK
Let's the mods know and then let it be, there are plenty of sites hosting mods they've no right to and there's not much that can be done about it.
DrakeTheDragon
If it's linking back to Nexus, not much can be done against the site itself, but the links coming back here could be directed to the block site already in place for other copy cats like this encountered in the past. If they're hosting a copy of a file of your's themselves, shoot GStaff at Bethesda forums a PM with a link. This will only work, if you're the author of the file in question, but they already moved against copy cats in the past after receiving a bunch of stolen mods hosted without permission reports. Some of the reported sites have vanished a time after this, so I'm let to believe Bethesda's legal department wasn't as incapable of fighting this as anybody else's would've been. Some still remain as of today though, so they're surely not omni-potent either. Not sure if they can do anything against unreputable hosts in countries not even knowing how to spell 'copyright', but at the end of the day they're the biggest force you can bring in on the matter, and always have been responsive to the incidents in the past. If it matters any, there's an official shout out from GStaff to keep reporting these things in future as well as thanking people for their past reports, which I think should still be in place, so it can't hurt doing him the favor. I'm guessing it's that Russian site, if so it fits into your "now even knowing how the spell copyright" group making Bethesda powerless.
bben46
These kind of sites pop up from time to time - and most vanish within a couple of months - Russia does not follow along with most of the world on copyright and piracy rules so there really isn't much that can be done about them - officially.
