Necity Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 Looking for a mod that would allow more realistic immersion into the game. Adding a family tree with npc's that can act as family for the dovakiin. Was thinking of this when serana asked if I knew my family and answered in the basic I don't know who my family were, however I noticed other options of I can't wait to see them again and so forth. I am sure it can be done and if I was a modder or knew anything of modding. I would make it so a random generator would create parents and brother or sisters and the start of a game or if your using alternate start allowing you to pick just parents or a full family. It just seems the game is missing this aspect of the game.

draconisking Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 @Lupus I'm not sure about that last thing, you could just say you are the son/daughter of a khajitt merchant from one of the caravans or of an argonian dockworker or something like that, sure you wouldn't have a huge amount of choice. Nice Idea, I saw another topic recently (http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/1345388-we-the-immersion-seekers/) The author proposes some nice changes for the heartfires dlc. I think I would definitively want my adoptive kids to meet their grandparents, aunts and uncles etc. So it might fit in, you should check it out.

An MCM script that, when you choose from a few selections, randomly generates parents, grandparents, and an activity script ... that would be nice. Something akin to an old-school 'answer the questions to generate your character' style process. "Is your mother still alive?" "What race was your mother?" "What did/does she do for a living?" "Is your father still alive?" "What race was your father?" "What did/does he do for a living?" "Do you have any brothers/sisters?" (uses the answer from mother and father's race to generate random races for both) "If so, how many?" As the player answers the quick questionaire, his parents are 'generated' and deposited in the world. The mod would have to come with a few basic housing options and spawning sequences. One in a village near Solitude, another in a village near Windhelm. One spawn follows khajit traders, another has mom/dad sailing abroad. But enough spawn options to not only explain the parents, but the brothers and sisters, and offer that extra bit of diversity. Then as the script generates, maybe you get a messenger saying your brother was killed by the Empire/Thalmor/Stormcloaks/Forsworn. Randomly generated, of course. Or that your father was killed and carried off by a dragon. Script in a few family tragedies to help players build their character's personality from. The fun thing with MCM and mods like 'Skyrim Unbound', is that it can randomly generate OR give the player the option to choose. This would really make a mod like this shine, giving players the option to build their characters lives *exactly* as they see fit, or let the game generate the background world that they live in. Kudos on the idea, op. Would love to see something like this.
Necity Posted February 9, 2014 Author Posted February 9, 2014 Guys I love your extra input. Now I am wishing I knew how to do all this via modding this would be a totally great immersive mod. I do have one question if it randomly generated parents would the generator also be able to share some of the facial and hair textures you choose in the creation of your character? Or am I getting to carried away with the thought of how this could very well be possible. I do like the random question portion and if that was some how tied into live another life mod somehow when asking where you live it would ask who are your parents and so forth.
