kieranfoy
maybe you try to kill him in all sort of way, but he alway survives, till the end , when you cut his head off... Yes, great, that's nice, good for you, cool story bro; but maybe read the notice at the top, hmmm?
BadPrenup
kieranfoy is right. this isn't a "hey how do you like to kill the adoring fan?" thread. and sadly enough there are actual websites devoted to that. I already said I am working on something similar, but for this actual idea here's some stuff that should be noted: The fan has a -6 level offset to the player, so thats like a one shot kill. Therefore there should be some kind of other challenge to this quest. The Adoring Fan respawns so finishing the quest should result in him getting disabled so we never have to see him again. In direct relation to the first two points, maybe the challenge to the quest is that he keeps coming back. He respawns every 3 days, so maybe the entire quest is trying to find a way to kill him permanently, leading you all over cyrodiil and letting the player fulfill their every fantasy of killing him. kieranfoy
That's an excellant idea! Maybe it could be that he's blessed by some deity (Sheogorath, maybe), and the character has to consult the Glenmoril witches to find some way of permanantly assassinating him. Maybe it'sa cult that wants him dead... sees him as the Nirnian equivalent of the Anti-christ. Goodnessknows I do.
BadPrenup
hmm it should be someone that you don't expect at all who is the one who calls the hit. Maybe its the Adoring Fan himself, he has been blessed with immortality, but he feels it is a curse. He's been alive for hundreds of years because when he was young he was very sick and prayed to the Daedric Prince Clavicus Vile (his sphere is granting wishes). Someone appeared before him, offering him life. The Adoring Fan quickly accepted, then learned that it was not Clavicus Vile that had appeared, but Sheogorath instead. And not only does Sheogorath grant the Adoring Fan life, but Eternal Life. So the Adoring Fan needs you to help him find a way to die. (Maybe two entirely different quest lines if you have SI or not, like if you don't you have to complete some sort of ritual, but if you have SI you can do some sort of quest for Sheogorath (provided you didn't finish the SI Quest, if you did then you could just grant him mortality))
kieranfoy
Weeeeel, the backstory sounds pretty good, but the whole point of the mod is to assassinate him, not help him. He should go kicking and screaming into the void. Remember, this is for sadistic Fan-haters. He's supposed to be an annoying little fetcher, not a tragic hero. BadPrenup
just brainstorming here, i personally like the Adoring Fan. I'm glad to help but keep in mind my stand on him, as well as the fact that I'm working on an unrelated Adoring Fan Mod.

If you have any modder friends who love the DB, hate the AF, and want him dead, just point them in this direction, yuh? Cause I can't mod at all, and all the brainstorming is worthless is a modder doesn't take it up.
BadPrenup
Well I'd be happy to make it as long as I know what you want exactly. I can handle all the scripting and world building what I basically need is an outline/storyline of the quest and what you want to see.
kieranfoy
Well I'd be happy to make it as long as I know what you want exactly. I can handle all the scripting and world building what I basically need is an outline/storyline of the quest and what you want to see. Oh, you are my personal hero. Here it goes. If you are Arena Crand Chapion before the Purification, either Vicenete or Ocheeva will approach you with a contract (depending on who you're taking contracts from. If you're listener, the statue of the Night Mother gives you the contract. They'll say (if you don't mind, I'll write the dialogue later today, when I've had my morning cuppa) that the AD has a price on his head, and you've been chosen, as you have personal experience with him. You're informed that the AF is, technically, immortal, as he'll reappear in the Arena. Your journal entry will suggest speaking with the Glenmoril with Melisande. When you speak to Melisande, she'll inform you that Sheogorath blessed the little fetcher with immortality as a joke, and that she can create a poisoned arrow capable of killing him permanantly (I guess you can meke a script to stop the AF respawning after being shot with it, yuh?), but you need to fetch ingredients. ten bloodgrass, one dremora lord heart (have her tell you there's a dremora lord living in Leafrot cave, two human blood, one varla stone, the Rose of Sithis- maybe one with a different item code, a re-skinned black daedric arrow? to keep people from cheating it in, or getting a glitch if the duplicated the arrow (you'll have to ask the statue of the Night mother if You're Listener, or get Ocheva to ask Lucien if not, and they'll assign a short miniquest to get it, take it from a fort gaurded by the undead called the Blessed of Sithis), and a sigil stone. Oh, and maybe the sands of resolve. Then, once you've taken the ingredients to Melisande, she gives you the Arrow of Final Death, and you head to the Imperial City. But apparently the AF got wind of your ambitions, and has run off to a small island south of Leyawiin, gaurded by clonesof himself. They'll be called Adoring Fan Simulacra (simulacrum in the singular) and they'll be wearing daedric armor. Once you've killed them, you enter the castle of the Adoring Fan, find him, and shoot him after a monlogue.
