ive been out of the loop a while, working/family etc, needed a good game, so picked up skyrim (ive been a fan since morrowind) - love it. brilliant fun!

currently got a gtx 680 2gb under the hood, and its not cutting it ... and I would love 3dvision as well. gaming on 2560x1600

how would you guys upgrade?

is it possible for me to get good enb and good 3d stereo for little £££? or do i have to pick 2 of these 3 choices?

ive got nvidia 3d glasses, so i would prefer to stay with them, and if i can utilise the 680 gtx in SLI or can I relegate it to other duties? (told you im out of the loop a bit - i remember there was talk about using old cards for other things a few years ago)

I really want the best bang for buck upgrade - I dont have £500/$1000 lying around

cheers for any help!

From what i know you need something like at least a 3Gb Vram on such a big screen and 3dVision.

Its something like 1.5GB that runs for the screen resolution, and at least 1Gb or less for the 3D iirc.

Now you can use 2 x 2 GB Vram cards in SLI or Crossfire, but it don't think it would solve the problem, my understanding is that the two cards get the same data send to them, and so they use up the same amount of Vram for what they do, read something about the drivers who would make one card work for one thing and the other deal with other stuff, but not sure about that.

Now of what i saw lately there is 3GB Vram cards under or at the 300$ mark, even at 250$ i think.

I would get the 4GB version of the GTX 770. It runs Skyrim smoothly at a steady fps with ENB and graphics mods, full settings and has plenty of VRAM. It's fairly reasonably priced for how powerful it is and is pretty much the most powerful Nvidia graphics card you can get till they start getting into the ridiculously expensive cards that are over your budget. I got mine for about £280. The only thing is I don't know how much 3dvision affects performance. You could always add in another GTX 770 later if you need more power though.

I would recommend 770 or 760 Mars its expensive then 770, but its bit faster then 780 ti and cheaper + it got 4gb of vram since its 2 gpu's on 1 card, also you wont have as much issues with SLI. Myself im using 780 ti, with top mods some 8k resolution textures, average grass density, big and lush trees (you can see my latest screens) i have 25 - 45 fps in exterior.

Ill take that old GPU, I have a 9800GTX+ with 512 Vram. But I would keep the old GPU as a backup until you upgrade again, then Ebay it if I was you.
