Some good new demo's out there these days to give a taste of games to come.

So thought i'd list some and perhaps we can keep the thread update with new ones as they come.

Voyage: A game inspired by Jules Verne VOYAGE: ( ourney to the Center of the Moon), a point and click adventure game about a travel to the moon.

Scheduled For: Fall 2005.

I usually dont like the point and click puzzle games but this one seemed pretty good and got me interested. So the demo is worth checking out!

Fahrenheit (a.k.a. Indigo Prophecy): Fahrenheit, a spectacular psycho thriller, set in New-York, gives gamers the unique chance to play both hunter and hunted, which in turn leads them to speak, explore, interact, fight and confront unknown dark forces

Scheduled For: Sep 2005

I had not heard much about this title untill lately and tried out the demo. Its a 3rd person game that gives the player several ways to change and interact with the story. Definetly worth checking out.

Dungeon Siege II: It's been a generation since you vanquished the evil that plagued the Land of Ehb, and now... a new menace has awakened. In Dungeon Siege II, the sequel to the best-selling RPG from Gas Powered Games, you will be called on to again wield sword and spell to save the world from a growing abomination many years in the making.

Scheduled For: Aug 2005

A 3rd person rpg that gives the player close to full freedom when it comes to character development as it increases by the skill you choose to use. Looks pretty sweet with its uppgraded graphics.

Holy... that demo for DS2 is over 1gb! :o

Not sure I can be bothered with that... I mean geez...

I tried that Fahrenheit demo and wasn't terribly impressed... I don't like being put under pressure in a game, although the way you could change things was kind of cool. That guy at the start was annoying, if you're gunna have someone telling you about the game at least make sure they don't have an unbelievably bad accent!

Well all of these are already out in full buuut they're fun nonetheless (I've been doing a lot of demo downloading as of late due to a bit of a gaming drought):

Prince of Persia: Warrior Within

Homeworld 2

Worms 4: Mayhem

Star Wars: Jedi Academy

Star Wars: Republic Commando

Chaos Legion

Thief: Deadly Shadows

Warhammer 40k: Dawn of War

You can find all of em on Fileshack (free account required) and some on Game Daily.

  • 2 weeks later...

F.E.A.R.

From the nice people at Vivendi. Single player FPS that is alleged to be scary, although I didn't think it was. /edit meh Zniky beat me to it by a few weeks or so - I'll leave it here anyway :P

And OGame isn't really a demo as it's a full game, but it's free. Kinda like Elite/C&C online.

SWAT 4 - not usually my sort of thing as I find that the planning and often over complicted interfaces detract too much from the gameplay in these sort of games but I liked this one a lot.

Most commands can be performed with the mouse and I really got into the role.

Quite a limited demo but well worth a look at 180MB for the dl.
