cristoferlentsch
New NMM keeps freezing on startup, over 50% CPU usage. Travel/entering whiterun was CTDing, so Had to do system refresh, redownload Steam/Skyrim. New NMM still doing it. Followed some advice from chatters on setting performance to best performance, as well as turning off antivirus (weas already off). Still freezing. Support told me what I already know after taking forever. Please, oh please can somebody help me? How much does anybody think I can take? I was level 360 and had to do system refresh and will have to start new game. Please help, please...
Chuck629
Hi Dark0ne! Just want to ask if I want to use the "Add Mod from File" I must be logged in first?Because I'm sure before I updated I can install mods even I'm not logged in. Hope you can answer this... (or anyone who can...) Thank you in advance! =)
EmpressEmmie
THANK you!!!! :) As mentioned in your post, the reoccurring download failures was frustrating and time consuming. Major kudos for fixing the problem and forcing the mandatory NMM update - so that folks who don't read the front page and skip right to the "goodies" - got the improved service. You guys are AWESOME! :)
SainurIronfist
'Lo lads! After almost a year of not playing Skyrim, and pretty much not visiting this website. I feel like playing Skyrim again, after my 960+ hour record. But can't login on the NMM. :<

LarryBurstyn
Downloaded and installed version .47Beta and got an interesting problem. Now the update mod version column is blank. No version at all for most of the mods. I checked and found some of the mods and their version numbers are set. But NMM shows no new version numbers for most of them. It does show the version installed but not the next column. Which I think, If I remember correctly, the newest version number.1. Does this mean the version number installed is the latest version.or 2. It cannot find the mod and thereby leaves the newest version number blank.????I manually update the version numbers because I have to pay for every gig I download. DAActon
In response to post #11716517. Your suggestions gave me a clue and I found my issue. Norton I.S. was hung on an update and was blocking external com except for I.E. Soooo, NMM couldn't connect to the server.
bben46
Answers to your concerns on the NMM v0.47.1 1. Latest version of mods not shown. This may not show until after you check for updates. NMM updates on a schedule set by YOU - the default is 3 days, but YOU can change that in the settings ( gears icon - upper left side) If you have recently updated - it does not try to fine new updates again for three days ( unless you change that in the settings) HOWEVER, just in case you want to do it right now, there is an icon on the left side of the Mods page that looks like a curved green arrow - click on that and it will immediately check for any updates. But only if you go online first. 2. Look in the lower left corner for the little buddy icon that tells if you are online (he will be green) or offline (he will be red) NMM will always start in OFFLINE MODE. You cannot do things that require access to the website when you are offline. Just click on the little buddy icon to go online 3. New downloaded NMM does not install when you click on it. This is from the Windows UAC trying to prevent a change to an already installed program. To get around this without loosing the UAC protection -RIGHT click on the program. At the bottom of the pop up, select Properties.A new pop up will appear - look at the top and click the Compatibility tab.Another new pop up - look at the bottom and find the Run this Program as an Administrator. - click on the box and a check mark should appear - click on Apply, then OK. You may have to do this each time a new version is released. This is NOT NMM, but Windows that causes this. 4. You will not have to either re-download or reinstall any mods - they will still be there. (Unless you deleted them yourself) 5. NMM is still a Beta program and is still being actively developed. Changes may be made at any time - not all will be backward compatible. Occasionally, a change will require a 'forced' reinstall instead of using the internal 'check for a new version' feature that automatically updates for you - a forced reinstall means the old version is not going to be allowed to access the mods database because of a change that could cause a problem. You MUST install it manually, just as if you had never used the program - On this one you do not have to even uninstall the old version, just allow the new version to overwrite the old one in the same location. 6. Unable to get the new version to update from inside the old version - You evidently misunderstand the concept of. MANUAL download and install. That means that you CANNOT! install by just clicking from the old version - it can no longer access the site - that's on purpose to keep people who don't read instructions from using it to do just that. There was a change that causes that to no longer work. Instead, go to the NMM page and download and install it just like you never had it before - you DO NOT Need to uninstall the old version. When you do install, just allow it to overwrite the old one and it will work. - If it doesn't start when you try to install after downloading - see #3 and #5 7. Downloading NMM from any other site can mean you got an old version, or one that someone has made other changes that we do not support, or maybe not even a real copy at all. - we only support the official version that is currently only available from the Nexus sites. If you download somewhere else, we don't know what you have - and neither do you. Here is the only place you should be downloading NMM from. http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/modmanager/?PLEASE, scroll down and read the entire page so you will know what you are getting. 8. Some Antivirus and firewall programs as well as Windows UAC will try to block some programs that they don't recognize - They don't block the big name programs because they know who those guys are - they need a 'digital signature' from other programs and that can take a while to get and can be a hassle. Most smaller companies rely on their users being bright enough to know that they might have to go into the UAC, antivirus, firewall or parental control program to allow NMM, or to allow a change to NMM. ( they usually fix it in a few days) Game sites are a low priority for them. For UAC, see #3 for other programs you will have to look in their documentation as they are all different.
