Or maybe they're counting down to the next time you manage to annoy Sheogorath. Protip: If ever you feel the urge to punch Sheogorath in the face, save first. But..*spoilers* I think because Jyg is coming..and since he is the god of "order" the events unfolding of his return, presence or whatever...makes the crazy-unordered people begin to get order imposed on them. As this happens it manifests as how the first bit of ordering in our lives happen...they do mathematics....or they count. What are they counting?
