Kissimurra
I was just thinking about the World map of Tamriel and I realized that if Bethesda want to keep the World of Tamriels propotions intact, the gameworld in Oblivon will be huge. I have taken a look at the World map of Tamriel and Cyrodill is very big compared with Morrowind. I also noticed that Cyrodill is a wasteland compared with any other land/kingdom/country/empire in Tamriel. Cyrodill is the biggest empire in Tamriel, but it has very few towns compared with any other land/Kingdom bla bla bla. It will be very interesting to see the map of Cyrodill when Bethesda releases it. Here's a piece of the world map of Tamriel
Stampede
I don't know so much about it being a wasteland as such in terms of it being desolate. The imperial province is described as being very green and lush. The developers have said the game world is pretty huge. What I am wondering is if we shall actually get to see the imperial palace itself. That would be quite a site.
Kissimurra
Yeah, I really hope that Cyrodill ( the Capital) is really huge, perhaps so huge that you might get lost in it, I wasnt amazed by the size of morrowinds towns.
Stampede
I remember also being a bit disappointed when I heard that Balmora was the second biggest town. The towns in Daggerfall were huge! I would also love to get lost in a city. I think I got lost in Vivec when I first went there...but that's because it all looks the same.
Switch
I know for a fact that all nine major cities are included, and also the overall size of the place is about 20 square kilometers, I think they said. So it's pretty big. You can fit three Vvardenfells in there. But they have to keep everything to a realistic scale, so as opposed to the tens of thousands of inhabitants there will only be one thousand. That probably means they scaled back in other areas as well. But it's still going to be 3x bigger than Vvardenfell was. That's pretty huge. :D I have a feeling the Imperial Palace has been mentioned as well, but I'm not positive on that one. I see no reason why it wouldn't be included, I mean, it would be a pretty crazy thing to leave out.

Yeah, the size of the towns in morrownd wasnt very impressive, but that has alot to do with the graphics engine. Imagine if they would had done a town that was two time as big as Balmora, the game would not have been playable. I think that the only reason the towns was small in Morrowind was because of a badly optimized engine. I can play HL2/Doom3 with higher fps :P Here is a pic of an alley in one of the towns in Oblivion, something you never saw in morrowind :)
Chaosmaker
Ummmmmm... Alley ways the perfect spots to rob people of there hard earned money... Well anyway I heard that Oblivion is gonna be twice as large as morrowind at least. But I know its gonna be larger.
VaanicOne
It's shame that the size is so much bigger and yet the population is so much smaller.
Stampede
Trust me Vaanic. You will not be bothered by it. Ultima VII has only a couple of hundred NPCs...but because of the AI and the schedules. That world felt so much more alive than Morrowind ever did. I'd rather have a thousand individual 'living' NPCs then a legion of braindead mannequins anyday.
