UhuruNUru
Everybodys actually playing Skyrim the nexus has had noticably fewer downloads since sheson memory fix appearedNo ones looking for the mod that will fix the crashes anymore they've found it. [Edit] Noticed its an orange background must be one of the pointless old games that are all starting to list a handful of mods that noone uses but make listings clutteredThe only games of all the those added with any activity is new ones all these old games with just a few mods are just a waste of space. If anybody is still modding and playing them they are doing so on the sites that always supported them games. They will not move here as their communities are established elswhere. I understand that Nexus must assume next Bethesda game will be Steam Workshop exclusive. They don't need to know it is just it might be is enough to make Nexus have to plan for it. Thus the multi-game system which was never needed after other games as the threat was not there. However clogging up with old games that is pointless all the effort should be on new games asd moddiers and mod users are loyal to the communities that support from the start. It would be a mistake for Bethesda to go Steam Only but with new 64-bit Engine required for new consoles if it happens it will be next game. DrakeTheDragon
It says Fallout "New Vegas" at the bottom line of the footer displayed. No need for making assumptions. As for nobody's being home lately, yeah, I noticed this, too, at places, again and again. As a matter of fact, at the time I'm typing this, going by "0 user(s) are reading this topic", I'm not even here myself! (0, 0, 0)Now it might be right in that I'm currently not "reading" this topic, after all I'm currently only "writing" in here, was done reading already before I started typing... but still, I have a feeling I 'should' be in that list somewhere.
bben46
@Uhuru - The game shown on that pic is New Vegas - and that is currently our second most active game here. What he is pointing out is a bug. In reality, he knows that there are at least several hundred users active in that game at that time - he was making a joke while at the same time pointing out a bug. When the site slows down, it;s the Skyrim downloaders that are clogging things up as they account for around 95% of the load. And if everyone is playing then why is the site showing over 4000 people on line right now? It's Sunday - and that has always been our busiest time And it seems to be hitting even earlier this Sunday than usual. :pinch: BTW, It's not the staff that is adding those old games (And some not so old) , it's the users - anyone can now upload a mod for any legally modable PC game - and if that game shows enough interest, it is added to the list. Some are moving here because their old sites are shutting down and they are looking for a place to host their mods, others because the other sites were just not very good or poorly maintained. There have always been quite a few requests to add various games to the Nexus. Most were turned down as there were already very good sites available. The old nexus games - Morrowind, Oblivion, Fallout 3, Dragon Age, I & II, New Vegas - all have very active modding communities. I actually prefer Oblivion over Skyrim because of the maturity of the modding community. (No, I'm not talking about the adult only type mods, but the quality of the work done in the mods - only kiddies equate the word maturity with adult only. )
