kryptonite000
Hello everyone I am having a very annoying issue with loading Oblivion;Whenever I start the game (with OBSE loader and with out) the game will freeze on the very beginning load screen (the bar won't move at all), I can't even get to the main menu.It started after I added a few different mods and the unofficial patch. I've disabled the mods and uninstalled the patch but I'm still having the same problem...Any help would be appreciated, I would rather not have to reinstall.Thanks. dezdimona
disableing a mod does not remove it! Remove all the mods. add one,go in game make sure it works before adding another and so on. Batch loading mods is a sure way to run into problems,,,as you have now seen and experienced.also load order for mods is important.

If it works with new games, this almost certain is because of changed load order from certain mods, mainly the overhauls. I don't know how to recover those savegames from that status, they have things that prevents the loading putting the engine in a sort of deadlock, when trying to liberate resources that is found in use and other so much complex issues to know in advance. I suggest you deleting the Oblivion.ini (that in the (my) documents\...\Oblivion) after backing up it, so the game can create a new one. This is only an attempt and do work in several cases. If the problem persists you must supply detailed information about the mods you uses and their load order.
kryptonite000
I figured it out, I saw that my Oblivion.esm was not first in the load order. I don't know how I missed that, guess it was because I was tired last night... I feel kinda dumb now for making a whole new topic, but thanks a lot for taking the time to help me.
