Running4Cover
Alright, so I just uploaded my first file since the site changed, and selected to allow endorsements and comments and all that (actually, it still says "Allow users to rate?" as opposed to endorse, but I assume that's the same thing now), but when I go to the file there's no comments tab, and it says "The author has blocked endorsements for this file" under the endorsements label. At first I thought this had to do with the new changes preventing users from endorsing until at least three hours after they download it, but it's still ike this, and it's been four to five hours now. I went into Manage Files, and went into Edit Attributes, but there are no options to allow/disallow endorsements or comments. I would greatly appreciate some help, and thank you for your time! buddah
That is a one time option when you create the file page, if you select it and hit submit it cannot be changed by anyone. Hitting the back button and changing it won't work either as once that flag is set it is permanent. The only fix is to create a new file page and reupload everything. Buddah But I know for a fact that I selected to allow Endorsements and Comments, yet they still don't work... seriously, I absolutely had them set to be allowed, and I never tried going back or anything... Dark0ne
Very rarely this can be a bug in the site, when the forum server is down or one of the services is being restarted or MySQL is taking a pounding it won't create the forum thread necessary to enable comments and endorsements. I'm very sorry but the only fix at this time is to remove the entry and re-add it.
