Error question

I don't know if this is the right place to post it, but I think it is.

I can't download mods from the site. I click "files", than the file I want. After that I get the screen of selecting a server, for example "Seattle, USA (269 Users)". After I clicked, a message comes with "If you do not receive an error, and the page continues to load, please be patient. Your file is being transferred to this server for downloading". After that a download screen pops up, staying at 0% for a few minuts. After that it goes wrong, and I get an error saying "Can't download download.php from fs1.tesnexus.com. Internet Explorer can't open this website. This website is not availible or can't be found. Try again later." (might be a little different, since it's translated). I can download from other mirrors, those work well, and the oblivion mods are easy to install, but only very few mods on the site have mirrors, most can only be download from the nexus site. Anybody knows how to fix this error?

I couldn't find a thread for this using "search", so help would be appriciated for a newbie :]. Thanks in advance.

I've actually gotten this a few times with seemingly random mods. Just try downloading it again, usually works for me.

(I am using Firefox btw. Not a fan of IE, so I haven't tried downloading anything from the site via IE)

Hope that helps. Oh, keep an eye on the file name too. It usually shows as "download.php" (which, if I'm not mistaken is a HTML-style extension) in the download window that pops up (I have downloads set to prompt me file name and location too, btw.)

It is usually caused by an IPS driver error when the site is extremely busy.....weekends are the worst. You are also correct trying to re download usually works.

I download everything [no joke], and have seen a few this evening on both sites.

Re-download doesn't work for me, and still can't download. I gues i'll try again monday, and if i than still can't download, i'll reply to this post again. I also tried a rondom mod, but won't work either. And i tried downloading in morning, evening, even after midnight, sill i can't download anything.

while trying to stay on topic, the sites are being utilized by to many people.

i'm guessing to much bandwidth is being used.

My problem isn't downloading(although i do get issues), my problem is

purely trying to get FalloutNexus to even load a web page.

Including every time i advance to a new page.(assuming i get in at all)

I have seen some sluggishness over the last couple of days as well, and have an open thread in the staff forums about this and some other issues. Dark0ne is aware of the issues, but is currently away from his home, correcting the issues from where he is at is not possible, he needs the information and tools that are on his normal computer to diagnose and resolve the issues.

These will be addressed on his return.

If you're having problems downloading from the fileservers, especially with 404 errors, then you'll need to take a look at things on your end. Firewalls, anti-virus software, plug-ins for your browser (noscript, anti-ad software, etc.) and various non-default browser settings can all bring up this problem.

I already tried turning off firewall/anti virus. How can I check if the problem is on my side? I don't know how to check the rest. And strange is I can download from normal mirrors. So I can't "receive" the download, thats what it said.

First try a different browser

Go into your browser settings and make sure you have java and cookies enabled for the site.

Can you download any files, or is your problem specific to just the large files (over 2megs)?
