Kissimurra Posted September 20, 2005 Posted September 20, 2005 Im just wondering if you will be able to use Niftexture/ Nif Light/ and other small modding programs for Oblivion that is currently available for Morrowind. So will you be able to use these programs for Oblivion aswell or will someone have to rewrite the programs to make them work with Oblivion?
Switch Posted September 20, 2005 Posted September 20, 2005 I would think they wouldn't work with Oblivion, as NIFs are part of the Net Immerse engine that Morrowind used, whereas Oblivion is using an entirely different engine to that this time I believe.
Peregrine Posted September 20, 2005 Posted September 20, 2005 I really doubt it, even minor changes in the model format would mean the tools have to be remade. And with the additional mapping types allowed by Oblivion's engine, the model format will be changing.
