Posted May 19, 2012 Share Posted May 19, 2012 Well, as far as I understand the difference between them and regular hard drives is that they have integrated electronic circuits insted of a plate and read/write heads. It's faster than a regular hard drive and it's silent (the reading head sound is killing me). The downside is that they are usually with less memory than regular plate/head hard drives and a lot more expensive (I can get an internal 2 TB head/plate hard drive for 50$ in Bosnia while a 220 GB SSD is 100$). And in my opinion, 200$ is way too much for a 240GB drive. Although, if you like silence and speed and you got the money, go for it. Personally, I would never give 200$ for a computer part, unless that thing comes with a stripper and a mini-bar. Well, you do have to take into consideration that my wager is 500$ (plus 250$ my girlfriend gets) and I have less than 100$ to buy food with after I pay the bills.
