Judging by the fact that you said you don't like the terminal, I'm guessing it's not Arch nor Slackware. Simplicity and Windows-like interface coupled with popular distros, that narrows it down to Mint or one of the Ubuntu flavors. Or maybe you're going for audio, which would leave 64 Studio (Debian-based, doubt it) and Ubuntu Studio (rather simple XFCE desktop, Ubuntu-based, it's a maybe).
