The Fallout3 patch 1.7 bug reporting thread, Have a problem? Post it h

I've been seeing a lot of wildly differing reports, but for me there has been no difference whatsoever between 1.6 and 1.7 (other than the fact that I had to update FOSE).

- NPCs *still* carry their weapon around (and knock stuff over, wave it through their arms, etc).

- NPCs sometimes carry their weapons upside down or backwards.

- Still getting the usual random crashes and freezes and crashes on exit.

- Still getting NPCs that glitch through the ground for no reason.

- Still getting NPCs that stand around in AI-overloaded mode and refuse to do anything from that point on.

- Still has the messed up skin bug that 1.5 introduced.

- The Z key grab function yanks the object in to minimum range if you get too close to a navmesh border (I think that's what's happening).

- AI navigation and dialogue timing still rely far too much on audio being enabled.

- AI navigation still whigs out and sends NPCs into corners and/or looping.

I guess I could go on and on if I include all the quest and script bugs they've never bothered fixing.

Hello!

I played FO3 right after it came out. Now I wanted to play it again, and looked for patches, downloaded and installed the latest patch. After a few problems with G4WL I didn't have without the patch, I could start playing. Thanks to the xlive disabling tool.

But right after the introduction, I noticed a bug, that I didn't have in the unpatched version: many objects in the pipboy just look the same!

They are correctly described, and functionallity I guess, but it is very mood-killing when all looks is the same. It all has the standard icon for items with no special use. That combination of a tin can and a fork and some other stuf wrapped in a little "pile"...

Scrap metal, Wonder Glue, Paint Gun, Pre-War Money... all looks like that, and I just know f.e. that those Items have an own icon.

Here is an example of what Symbol I mean, I think the selected item here has the correct icon...but its just about the image ;)

I'm not sure if it would count as a spoiler, so I wont just post it as a picture...

Anyone seem this bug? Any solution?

I was thinking of the FOOK, maybe it solves the issue, but I find it strange,

having the bug AFTER the game is patched?

Edit 1:

FOOK2 does not solve the issue. I will test the game by reinstalling, and test without any add-on/mod/patch...

Edit 2:

Sorry, this is obvious the wrong place for the issue, since this problem already is in the unpatched/unmodded game!

Patch 1.7 doesn't solve it either...still my question: Anyone encountered this? I could still swear I haven't had this problem the first time I played the game.

Well ok...I obviously was wrong then I guess ;) Don't know where that idea came from then...

I saw a mod yesterday where some items were provided with another icon. But still not things like scrap-metal...so...ok...

Of cource, giving every junk object an own icon may be pointless...but hey...I think it would look cool when some items had an own icon in the pipboy (or when going through containers). But if, they should all have one, so it doesn't get too obvious what items are usefull and what aren't.

Resource consuming...well...I guess that wouldn't be too heavy...I hate resource wasting programs, but compared to what some add-ons or mods do, that little tweak should not be the problem ;)
