Help With Getting My Game to Run at a Higher FPS Rate

ok so update! I can get anywhere fast traveling now but if I wait like an hour or even try to move too quickly I crash :/ this is bugging me because I even just reinstalled the 4GB memory patch

The 4GB memory patch doesn't do anything anymore. It hasn't for months, Bethesda already put it in the game by default but the engine still crashes at 3GB or slightly above.

Try this instead. http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/50305/?

You wont need that either if you use Beta SKSE.

But how is that possible? I just tweaked the ini settings and now I get at lowest 39 fps, 50s in most areas, and no hiccups or lags. I can travel half way across skyrim and I'm fine but all the way and I CTD. If it indeed is a full VRAM then the only problem is a ctd when I fast travel far. That being said I did check my VRAM usage when playing earlier and it wasn't maxed..,

You have 2GB of VRAM? Or 4GB?

If Skyrim passes 3GB of use, it will often crash. I believe there's a workaround for that, probably called SSME or something.

This is inaccurate. Skyrim can use as much VRAM as it wants with ENBoost. RAM usage will always be a problem though.

Background processes can eat clock cycles - there are some tricks to offload any background processes that you just cannot get along without to a single core while allocating one or two cores to the game only. But getting rid of the background stuff is better. Private message programs are notorious for killing fps. Even FRAPS can steal a couple of FPS when it is running in the background.

Malware - some are notorious for hiding and calling home constantly to tell your browsing habits - even if you are not doing any browsing and even if you are completely disconnected from the internet they still try. Get and run a linux based non windows rescue disk to find this junk. Actually getting rid of it can be another major project though.

Check this site for more suggestions This guy has been writing these kind of articles for over ten years and knows his stuff.

Get your FPS up on a clean vanilla version first. Then monitor what happens with each mod you install.

So do I just install the alpha build of skse over the one I have?

Well it is a Alpha version of SKSE so it could run into other problems until it is declared stable. But if you were to yes, manually install SKSE and put the files where they need to be and overwrite the old files.

Been using the alpha for quite a while now (got it because it's needed for the update of a mod I want) and it's pretty stable, considering I have a wicked heavy mod build.

Too lazy to backread, but you are using SSME and ENBoost right?

Do you know your FPS with all mods disabled?

Ok I updated it and had problems transforming into a vampire lord so I tried to revert back to my old one and now when I start the game I'm still having trouble and it's saying I have an skse mismatch...
