But they aren't really big isles just a few reefs. But I like the horror effects. Like when player enters a room sees something horrifying and the his vision blurrs. I have so many things to say, that I have forgotten them, but that's ok mainly I think we should use ALL of those monsters from the 20 creatures mod. I don't know what your ideas for Blackspine Isles has been so far, but I think it should be the most savage place in all the isles... so savage that not even Razorians live there... just those monsters. Maybe it used to be an island in which necromantic experiments were practiced by some people and then they caused some... horrid problems. Perhaps some of them will be in the Asylum, I'd like especially the bloody spriggans to go there, and maybe the larger imp for the demon (however, it is an imp). This would add a lot of diversity to the "Blackspine Isles" ... however demented it is. It's 2 am and I forget who wrote it, but whoever wrote the journal entry of the cleric I liked that a lot. Very gory. Don't let down on that at all (in fact, stress it. The more gory it is and the more in depth the cleric describes these gory things [in a medical manner, perhaps not so aware of it] rather he just wants to get back home and not worry about his job, it adds a real horror affect to it, maybe as though the cleric has gone a little loopy himself). This also gave me an earlier inspiration that some kind of mania would be spread throughout the Blackspine isles due to this (maybe the survivors caught it) maybe this could connect in some way to the demented horror creatures idk. Another thing, when I was reading about the 80-foot table haha, how about whole rooms increasing their length for periods of time, like as an illusion? And to get into something really complex, how about the whole Asylum is made like the realms of Oblivion and every time you enter a new room the whole place shifts a little so it's hard and creepier to find your way around. (not to make it impossible to find quest locations, of course). Does this sound too difficult? If not that maybe we could make it seem that way...like your vision gets narrowed, probably using a load of blur effects and things like that so the end of the hallway looks smaller and skewed. Ok so I reread your original post, it seems the Razorians make flesh-beasts; maybe the horror monsters could act as those. (or at least some) So yeah, I forgot that Blackspine was inhabited and ruled by Raoul Darkspine, woops my mistake. But maybe some of the islands could be less navigated and therefore have areas totally wild and populated by the deranged creatures...tell me what you think... What is the setting of this island... it has a volcano so I'm assuming rather tropical. Jungly? It would provide an exotic landscape for those creatures (sounds weird I know but they are exotic) that is, if you want to have them added. :) (@Jason) Maybe we could use the Wo Fish and maybe add Water Dreughs (land dreughs that can't walk on land) to populate the waters in between the islands. And maybe the swimming skeleton-like (:D) thing as a creature to wander around a flooded undersea aylied ruin or cave chain that has long been the resting place of a long-lost cult of Necromantic Vampires who have been doing cruel and twisted experiments on innocent victims they've captured from above ( which calls on the undead imp thing, the imp with one eye thing, and the fleshy-skeletal golem thing :P ) and maybe add a small quest about disappearances, like the captain of a small towns (near the water) guard tells you about recent mysterious disappearances and wants you to investigate around town and see if anyone knows anything about it. Then when you talk to a villager that likes you more than (or equal to) 80 disposition then he/she will tell you that he/she has seen (villager name) leaving town for long-periods of time lately. So you get the idea to follow him around and see what he is doing daily. Then you follow him to the underwater lair (through a series of cave passages, not actually swimming underwater to find the cave/ruin. And then he and two other necromancers find you and talk to you about how they are going to experiment on your body once they kill you. then once you kill them and go to the town guard captain and tell him about the lair he'll tell you to try and clear it of all the evil necromancers. Once you do that he gives you town guard uniform and gives you the title of "Guard of (Townname)" Of course the cave should respawn and the creatures should come back (with vanilla necros) Like the idea?
