dezdimona
it started today.Whenever I go to the main site to check new files or any other reason,my spyware/ anti-virus ware blocks an attemp for a virus to attach itself. I thought you might want to know and look into it. Dezi
buddah
What AV are you using? Can you copy and paste the warning, or a Screen shot perhaps?

buddah
Thanks, that will give Dark0ne something specific to look for. It may be a bad advert....so that will help get it off the site either way. Buddah
ecksile
Hmmm i got a malware while browsing earlier. It was a nasty little thing. Total Security it installed into C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\13507654. Once u reset ur computer with this guy on it only way to get rid of it is in safe mod. It locks down taskmanger/and any anti virus as well as msconfig. I got rid of it with malwarebytes in safe mode. I was browsing alexscorpions uploaded images on the main fo3 page when i got it. buddah
That is a nasty one, you can get it anywhere on the net......nasty little devil hard to track down where you got it as it is set to execute when certain conditions are met. It does not immediately manifest itself where you got it , but does sometime and somewhere later...if memory serves it is triggered by something in java. If you google Total Security there are several places that post a fix/removal of the bugger and better information as well.

buddah
Your VG is detecting the tracking cookie the site sets when you try to log in. Contact your VG support and have it checked, but I am quite sure that is what is happening. If I am correct they will correct the issue for you. If you think the site is infected, then don't go there till this gets resolved.. But it may be embedded in the add that is in the screenshot. But I am quite surethat is the sites tracking cookie, It contains your log in information and tracks usage and your download history, etc etc. It is used by Dark0ne to determine the usage of various areas of the site where assets are in need of upgrades. This way he can predict areas of concern and reallocate assets to prevent the site going down or having IPS driver errors that we all love to complain about. Here is a link to the site which offers the service: http://extremetracking.com/ Buddah
Dark0ne
Yep, that's one of the sites I use for traffic statistics. I've been using them for 8 years now and have never had a problem with them. I'm guessing your detector is just being a bit overzealous. Thank you for spending the time to make and upload an SS.
