TES 5 What Do You Want In it?

I hope the npc's in the TES 5 have more to say and more personality. I honestly didn't really find myself caring much at all, for nearly 90 percent of the characters. I mean, so many of the npcs that fill the game have only like 1 or 2 lines.

I remember in Morrowind, there was not really any voices, but the npcs all felt so much more alive, because you could read about their history, and background. And because it was text based, the creators, could give them much more to say, and be descriptive in their dialogues.

I think another game that does a very good job with npcs is Fable. I enjoyed that game a lot, and a large part of that was because the npcs had so much personality, and were constantly aware of the players exploits. You, as a player were truly the center of the universe in that game, and the npcs let you know it.:)

I truly feel that, as much as the pretty architecture, and trees, and monsters, help create an interesting game world, it is the PEOPLE, that I relate to the most, and make me CARE about said world. And as far as Oblivion is concerned, most of the npcs felt VERY shallow IMO.

I hope TES 5 finds a way to rectify this.

'K, here are my wishes.

-Full body scaling system/ Boobs, Shoulders, Arm Length, Hand Size, Pretty much any part of the human anatomy you can think of because then you could make an absolute beautiful character or you could make a deformed freak, which could add to the roleplaying factor.

-Realistic bars. They will fill up at night and NPC's will get angry and even brawl if you offend them some way.

-Something near to the Inebration Mod.

-I wouldn't have this in the main game because not everyone likes it, but create the game in a way that people can make lore-abiding guns or vice-versa.

-Smaller map halfway in between Fallout 3 and the current Oblivion.

-IF IT COULD WORK, the CoD4 Graphics engine. Easy enough so it can run easy on medium settings on medium-end computers but detailed enough so it feels realistic. Take out the things that makes it non-Oblivion like and MP_Creek can easily work as an Oblivion landscape for me, but I don't know how using this engine would effect modding.

-NO ONLINE. If Beth want online then they should make TES:Online and make it with every single region included.

-Mining, so you can make your on weapons and armor.

-On that note, MORE weapons and armour.

-Barter system like (or similar to) FO3.

-More complex alchemy.

-Truly do what the F you like style like Fallout 3 where each quest and situation has quite a few outcomes.

-NPC personality, Romance, Hate, Fear. Like if they hate you they will perhaps attack you in the street or if they fear you they will keep at a distance. Marrige is good but only if it is done correctly. Lear from Fable 2, Beth.

-Make it so when you kill a wolf some pelt is worth something, because when NPC's suggested I hunt things for money I found myself thinking, "What's the point?"

-More skills. Hunting and mining so you can be more prosperous in the ideas listed above and make them more unpredictable and exciting. Perhaps have Fishing and Fletching in there too.

-Make it so not all FOODS are Restore Fatigue for the top attribute. Have roughly half as Restore Health.

-No level scaling. Lots of tough and weak monsters. Make it so that there are few areas with certain monsters and creatures in it. This will make it more realistic. If a low level player encounters too tough a monster then he/she will just have to GTFO like you would in real life.

-More realistic fatigue. Blocking creates fatigue. Running should create fatigue. If you run out of fatigue while running you should fall down and then sit and rest until you are full again. If you are hit and your fatigue falls to zero then your combat should suffer

Ok, I'm done ;) .

yeah wives and kids and crap, pets i guess like in fable, more houses, more fun quests and guilds, involvement of the hero of cyrodil, more equipment and stuff, better graphics, bigger world, lots and lots of dlc, better more fun spells, new skills, sports or games or something, still in medieval times but you know a couple thousand years later, and lots of other tie ins with previous elder scroll games like gray fox and just random stuff like that

Put in all of Tamriel lands! ^__^

Make random portals to other Worlds/Planets ( Like Daedra gates)

Epic anims, moar races ( no old school elfs,orcs,humans,cats,lizardz,demons...Well maybe demons should go on ^^)

x bows! Epic lookin armor And sooo On and Yeah dont forget more monsters would be too awful if they gave in the same god damn monsters and add no new one = FAIL

and also as Ancient Aeon said: MISSIONZ!

As well as that add random events like in Fallout 3 not crappy oblivion encounters when a wolf runs up your butt and some random human kills it...No Way

Thats it..for now?

I mostly want to have a storyline that's engaging from the very beginning. Hell, maybe have some nations from Akavir invade Tamriel, and start me off on the front lines of battle. Tosh Raka's planning an invasion anyway. I'm tired of always starting off as a prisoner of questionable origin, mostly. Something fresh and exciting would be nice. >.>

Most of JMeister's wishes are good too though. :P

Most of the above posted suggestions work for me. There are a few things that really, really annoy me about Oblivion, but level scaling has to be the main one. If they get rid of that I'll be happy.

And please don't sacrifice an involving and engaging storyline for beautiful graphics that need a top of the line system to run. Pretty is nice, but without substantial game play that keeps you interested, it's just like a walk in an empty theme park with practically empty cities.

More wildlife and not so everything wants to kill you. There's no realism in that.

If there's going to be spoken dialogue there needs to be more variation between NPC's and races or get rid of it altogether. Bring back the depth and personality of Morrowind. I'd rather read than hear the same voices over and over.

One thing I haven't seen mentioned anywhere is a quick inventory bar on the HUD. It could have the option to be hidden if necessary. Something like most other RPG's have so you can select your weapon, spells, potions with quick keys (and more of them) instead of opening the inventory and pausing the game.

And on that...a smaller HUD itself....and an onscreen local map showing the time and day of the year so you don't have to open the full map to see it.

I would like the amount of factions and depth of factions that was present in Morrowind. Seems like Bethesda is getting into just simplifying things too much.

Also, while I love the snap and place set pieces, because it makes world building easy... I don't like how there are only three or four templates (Haven't I been in this cave/ruin/fort before?) Really makes the dungeon crawling quite boring.

More grand events like the end of the main quest. Like factions fighting each other in cities.. or hostile take overs. Things like that.
