Try not playing on medium or low settings? ;) Crysis' lighting system is incredible, no getting around it.

It's a feature of the Morrowind Code Patch, which
also fixes tons of other engine bugs like unarmored not working unless you wear at least 1 piece of armor.
and possibly a better fighting system
WIP Better Battles

There's a lot more going on like a site coming where you'll be able to upload your character to straight from the game, and WIP animation replacers... I think I'll create a separate MW thread before I derail this one any further. :)

Well, I'ver certainly got a lot to look into. Might have to get back into playing morrowind for a bit. :P Thanks a lot.
All I care about graphics is lighting (and possibly with little effects) and a good but not so complicated/highly detailed textures.

As long the textures and lighting isn't really bad, and the game have excellent gameplay, I still want the game even at today's technology.

Example

http://pcmedia.ign.com/pc/image/kotorpc_112103_000_640w.jpgIt maybe isn't really good, but you're looking at one of the best games of all time !

I loved great graphics in art than great graphics technically.

Yeah, that reminds me that I tried Oblivion with a mega-graphics pack (Qarl's texture pack to be exact) and I was surprised that I preferred the old oblivion graphics to those included in the texture pack. Sure Qarl's was a really good mod, but it no longer felt like Oblivion to me, and plus, the errors on trying to exit out of Oblivion seemingly increased. Sometimes it would freeze up entirely upon trying to exit out and I'd have to restart the comp.

To me in the end, gameplay first and graphics second (so long as the graphics aren't too bad).

No wonder, the developer is Bioware. Equal to Bethesda at making RPGs. Graphics like that is worth the gameplay I presume. (now if Bioware sets a system requirements like this, I wonder how high TES V's system requirements is.)

If this kind of game released on 2009, I wonder how high TES V that not going to appear anytime soon.

Damn...! I barely meet the recommended ones... I guess it'll be the first game in a while I won't be able to run on max settings...

But yeah, if I were going to get a game that barely ran, it'd better have good enough gameplay to outweigh the annoyances from stuttering.

Ooh, reccomended quad core? Maybe a game that will actually take advantage of all four cores. :3

That graphics don't look particularily great though... I wonder why the requirements are so high?

It probably depends on the programming. Some engines look better than maybe another, but the second engine, while looking about 20% "not-as-good", may be 50% less demanding on a computer than the engine that looks only 20% better.

Another reason why some of those best-looking games aren't exactly worth it initially.

No matter if the graphics get better and better, there needs to be all the visual settings for those who have some older pc. GTA IV is an example of an awful choice of graphics settings (GTA IV is the worst game in the world for pc in my opinion). And i think that textures are already looking like real, but the lightning isn´t quite real yet. And the shadows.
