eravenelle
Does anyone know how to do this? I've got a mod I started working on several years back and made a lot of progress on but never released it. I am wondering how difficult it would be to transfer the data from my old computer to my current machine in order to continue work on it. Cross-posted from the BethSoft CK forum to increase my chances of getting a good answer. Thanks in advance!
DragonDude1029
Simple as transferring any data files to the new computer. That includes ESPs (and/or ESMs), BSAs, and/or loose data files (meshes, textures, scripts, etc.) associated to your mod. It's the same process as 'installing' any other mod. Make sure all the files are present and it should work perfectly fine! Edited March 4, 2014 by DragonDude1029
IsharaMeradin
Method 1Create a BSA archive of your mod's assets and copy over the ESP and BSA files, then extract the BSA on the new computer. Method 2Ensure that only assets for the mod you are working on is in your data folder then make a 7z/zip/rar file of the contents. Extract it in the correct location on the new computer. eravenelle
Oh, that's way simpler than I thought it would be... my buddy told me it would be difficult because the scripts wouldn't be decompiled from the .esp, which quite honestly doesn't make sense as an explanation to me, but anyway -- thanks for the quick replies! Xander9009
Well, they wouldn't be decompiled from the .esp, but they're not part of it to being with... Honestly, "decompiled from the .esp" is literally a phrase with no meaning. They're right, just copy over all of the relevant files and you'll be good to go. One note, copy, don't move/cut. Leave them intact on the old comp until you're certain you haven't missed anything, especially if there are lots of files.
