I mean just watch the endgame credits. It says sometimes residents of Primm turn up dead

for no reason. And he shoots people killing them whithout any proof of guilt.

This guy needs to be hanged I have to say.

Just because there's no proof doesn't mean the bastard/b&@*$ in question didn't do it. In a post-apocalyptic setting with likely no form of in-depth criminal investigation, all you'd need to do is make sure there are no witnesses around, and that you can keep your damn mouth shut, and you'll most likely get away with it.

Statistically speaking, that's true even today by and large. But in this case, the Mohave Sheriff isn't just top cop, but also the head of the town militia. Beyond the Posse, Meyers is on his own. And in every ending but the NCR one, Primm remains fundamentally on it's own. Considering that he's NCR leaning and my character is ultimately an NCR freebooter (Cause...America....f*#@ yeah) and Meyers doesn't run afoul of NCR, all Meyers taking over means is that some Powder Gangers get redemption and though Primm will be brought under NCR jurisdiction, it will be brought in on more equitable terms and without a humiliating but otherwise necessary military occupation.

So Meyers + NCR ending = Golden Ending. At least for Primm.

I usually choose Meyer, then reverse pickpocket some sheriff gear and a decent gun onto him.

I don't think he's a psychopath any more than Lucas Simms was in FO3. Lucas would shoot you in the face if you were even slightly mouthy to him when he first meets you, and you weren't breaking any laws then.

"Nice hat, Calamity Jane."

I always put better stuff on the one I choose.

I always thought it was a shame that you couldn't force your way to being sheriff. I always thought that should have been an option, then you take Deputy Inept and do a Big Town style training session to boost his confidence. That way he could enforce while you are away.

Isn't "Me an the boys'll take good care of Primm" striking a chill for anyone else?

What boys Mayers? You never mentioned any 'boys' before. I got YOU in to do this job not some posse of crims. You need backup, then send dopey there over the road and get Heyes to patch a message through to my NCR radio an I'll fast travel right back here...

Walks off muttering 'me an the boys... Jeezus!'

First off, would it kill ya to spell Meyers' and Hayes' names correctly?

Second, the original plan was for Meyers to be joined by a handful of ex-convicts. That was cut prior to release for some reason, but the dialogue was never edited. IIRC one of the New Vegas Uncut mods adds those deputies back in, along with a little bit more dialogue explaining their presence.

Third, just because someone spent time in the NCRCF doesn't mean they're a bad person. f*#@, even today IRL there are literally hundreds of thousands of innocent people behind bars because the legal system is completely and utterly broken. I can't even imagine the NCR's idea of "due process", and frankly I'm amazed that they only have the one prison in the Mojave given how f*#@ing draconian their "laws" are.
