Paxan_1
Ok, thanx everyone. I will try all of the suggestions...it's always something! This kind of stuff is what makes me mod most of the time instead of playing! haha :P Hi,i've seen your thread with that problem and i had this kind of problem some time ago, too. In my case i had a overheat problem of the graphic card. The problem wasn't the GPU temperature, my voltage transformers of the card heated up over 120°C after some minutes playing a 3D game. This one was hard to find, because the temperature is down to normal values very fast after shut sown. I figured it out by using Everest writing a protocol with all the data. Good luck to find your problem,Paxan
hoshi23
Sounds like a pain in the .... I think at that stage what i would do is get alternative components to switch around in order to see where it is at. Namely power supply and graphic card. x BattleHeart x
@PaxanYes, i've figured out that my GTX275 is the culprit.Do you have any solution to this? I guess the obvious answer is better ventilation, but is there a way to raise the shut off point for the card?

Maybe you can have a look into the settings with the Rivatuner (http://www.guru3d.com/index.php?page=rivatuner) In my case i have installed an optinal 80mm Fan which is only in use if the temperature is over 80°C on the VRM. nosisab
Not much ground to precise troubleshooting, to me the symptoms are these of RAM failure. Try some memory testing application, preferably the kind that runs before booting the OS and you can setup to run overnight (yes, such testes are time consuming). x BattleHeart x
Ok everybody, it seems it's not my card but my PSU. I have a 700w Xion Supernova that came with the package. My temps on the card when gaming get to about 60c to 70c, so I know it isn't my GTX 275.After reading through a lot of forums, it seems to be the PSU as some on here have already said. You think a 650w Corsair would do the job? It's only $90 with free shipping on Amazon :D Paxan, I used EVGA Precision as the people on forums said it's easier to configure than Rivatuner. So, my default fan speed was on 40! I raised that bad boy to 75 then eventually to 90%.Everyone was saying the only problem in raising the speed is the noise, but it's not a problem for me.So, with that fan speed I get around 46c for my GPU temp at idle. x BattleHeart x
Scratch that, I just bought a Corsair 750w PSU to make sure! $110 on Amazon...Hope this is the culprit!

That sounds good. 650W for 90$ is really cheap. A good PSU is necessary, never heard of Xion... . Corsair is a good choice, but if you compare PSU please have a look how much power they have on the 12V line. In germany the cheap brands cheat on that. They write 500W but if you take the important 12V rail you have only 300W. Corsair is okay with that, like BeQuiet what i'm using. For example i take the one i have:BeQuiet Dark Power 550W4 rails for 12V with 18A max per rail. At maximum load it can deliver 480W. That means you can't have 18A on all 4 the same time. So if i connect my graphic card to rail 1, it can use at max 18A x 12V = 216W. So for the other 3 there are only 550W - 216W = 334W. It is around 10A for each of the three left. Because of that, high end graphic cards have 2 connectors like my 4870, because 216W wont be enough. On the BeQuiet Homepage you can find a easy PSU calculator for that. x BattleHeart x
Back to solve this problem.I bought a 750w Corsair Power Supply and it doesn't shut off anymore! :DSo if you have this problem, get a new PSU. Thanx Paxan for the help :)
