I simply can't cover a large enough area with enough particles.Perhaps you could make more than one rain drop on each particle? Almost like whole buckets coming down. Cakester
This mod has been canceled. I simply can't cover a large enough area with enough particles.Perhaps you could make more than one rain drop on each particle? Almost like whole buckets coming down. I tested with 16 raindrops in a single .nif. The problem is i have to duplicate the entire particle system because the collision makes them fall to the ground. So i can't continually emit particles from the sky if the node is on the ground. Also because they are to explode on impact once one of the raindrops hits something the rest will disappear. gsmanners
Rain particles are pretty tough to see anyway. Maybe all you need for a convincing shower is the ones at short range. Just make sure the particles are following the camera around, right? :)

gsmanners
That's the funny thing about rain. If it isn't six feet in front of you, you'd probably never see the rain drops. It's mostly the darkness, the clouds, and the sound effects that make rain convincing. The only exception that leaps to mind is if you're looking at a strong beam of light in the distance.
