evilneko
Hmm, this thread almost makes me want to install Point Lookout and switch over my load order and save games to bring my old character back into play. Having survive and thrived in a MMM-ified Wasteland (and dominated the vanilla wasteland when I discovered MMM was causing crashes) I wonder how she'd do against the swampbillies... BTW, what's the best way to kill those Ghoul Reavers; first time I encountered one of those I died within seconds.. Kuroe 4 (or Talia, the blonde pig-tailed wasteland loli) took care of her first Reaver with the LSR at range... or so she thought! Damn thing survived, forcing a switch to the alien blaster! Blaze has so far, not encountered one, which is good, seeing as she doesn't have the firepower to take one on, and is in the single-digit levels. It'll be interesting to see how they respond to the complete Pyromaniac Rebalance.

They use BB guns that do more damage than Enclave Soldiers and have more health than a deathclaw. *Yawn*. Silly Bethesda. Bad design choice -_-; With their silly damage removed and their health lower, it's much more fun to explore and you can go there at lower levels. Cecallred
^^ I took them out with an assault rifle, plasma rifle and even a shotgun by the expedient move of firing and running backwards as fast as I could while muttering over and over: "Oh Sh-t, Oh Sh-t, Oh Sh-t!..."
ehplee
When I fought the Swampfolks at the Ritual Site, I actually had to use stimpaks every few seconds since they do so much damage even with 85 DR. Trying to dodge or use cover didn't help much because of their aimbot accuracy. My best tactic was to use the gauss rifle to knock them down. The Smugglers were also a pain since a lot of them carry sniper rifles and they can see and shoot me through fog and foliage with ridiculous accuracy from long distances. The best tactic I can come up with is to stay hidden as far away as possible and snipe them with the gauss rifle, targeting their knees to compensate for the upward trajectory of the shots relative to the scope center. Sneak Attack Criticals on the head seems like the only way to one-shot kill all the enemies. Ghoul Reavers are another matter. Shooting them once with the Dart Gun is the best way to keep them from dash attacking you and you can just run backwards while shooting them. If you don't want to be so cheap, you can take advantage of their dash attacks. Dash attacks from some enemies are harder to dodge than others, with Deathclaws being the hardest to evade and Super Mutants being the easiest in my experience. The trick is to circle strafe by running diagonally forward as they dash so they dash past you. Most humans and ghouls can home in on you while they're dashing though and they will hit you if your movement direction and timing isn't precise. You can totally own melee enemies by circle strafing and attacking while they recover from their dash. As long as there's a small distance between you and the enemy, they will just keep trying to dash. Of course, knocking them down with the gauss rifle works too.
PsyckoSama
Anyone know of any patches that fix this idiocy in all of the DLCs?
Grumpfbork
I could live with the fact that those swamp things are harder to kill than a deathclaw, even if the amount of healthpoints is just ridiculous. When one of those freaks was still standing after 1394 headshots I just used to think "Well, maybe there is just not enough brain that a couple of headshots could damage... they are completely controlled by the brainstem and its my bad luck that Vats does not support shots in the neck!" :D What really pissed me of was the ridiculous balancing of the double barreled shotgun. When used by the player this thing is completely useless. The damage is comparatively low, the firing rate is crap and the reload time is too high. And is is almost impossible to hit anything further away from you than 3 steps. And yet the swamp folk is able to snipe you down with this shooting iron from distances I could not even hit them with my sniper rifle and kill you with 2 or 3 shots.
