Necessities of Morrowind script error

Is that load order (post #4) still accurate? The only thing I can think of is if the patch is loading before MC or NoM. Afraid I don't use either of these two mods so I've no experience of debugging them myself.

 

If you haven't already upgraded (you say you have MGSO) then get the latest mlox (0.60). I released the latest version of the rule-set a week or so back, mlox 0.59 automatically update the rule-set.

Thanks for the heads-up, it seems I still had version 0.59 of mlox. I updated it to 0.60 now, but it didn't offer any changes. I'll still post my current load-order to be sure:

Now when I check the load order carefully, I can see two mistakes, plus a possible one. Can you add them to the mlox rule-set?

 

1) Morrowind Crafting Patch.esp should load JUST AFTER Morrowind Crafting 2-1.esp. As it is now, the patch loads before the main mod itself.

2) NoM_CoM Compatibility Patch.esp should load AFTER Necessities of Morrowind (main mod) and Children of Morrowind. As it is now, it loads after CoM but before NoM.

3) (I'm not sure about this) Djangos Dialogue.ESP is all about dialogues. So, if the user has some LGNPC mods, I think it should load before them so as not to override anything in LGNPC. I remember Django saying that his mod should be compatible with LGNPC mods though; so this may not be necessary.

The only difference between 0.59 and 0.60 is that 0.60 won't error if it can't connect to the interwebs when checking for an updated rule-set to download. You're already running the latest rule-set so bang goes that idea.

I'm afraid I'm stumped, the copies of NoM 3.0.esp I have (from 303a) have the two fire objects referenced in the scripts. I have no clue how they're disappearing. About the last thing I can suggest is patching your executable with the Morrowind Code Patch, but I guess you've done that?

The CoM patch just moves around some objects defined in CoM (in Thirsk and Gnisis). It doesn't affect anything in NoM at all. As long as it loads after CoM it'll be fine, as CoM's an ESM there's no need for an Order rule.

The CoM patch just moves around some objects defined in CoM (in Thirsk and Gnisis). It doesn't affect anything in NoM at all. As long as it loads after CoM it'll be fine, as CoM's an ESM there's no need for an Order rule.

I see, but if you look at my load-order, you can see that Django's Dialogue loads before Less Generic Bloodmoon, Less Generic Nerevarine and Less Generic Tribunal. Though I vaguely remember that they were unofficial LGNPC mods, that could be why.

 

Oh, Ostar's mods. Yeah, so whilst Ostar's one of the main writers of LGNPC he made the three Less Generic mods on his won. He didn't feel it was right to give them the LGNPC label.

 

Anyway, extending that Order rule to Ostar's mods makes sense (so e.g. loading Django's mod before them).

 

Sorry I can't be more help on you NoM issue. It all looks like it should be working :shrug:

 

Actually, just checked and the Activator "NOM_pitfire_off" (and the other one) were only added in Nom 3.03 and weren't in earlier versions of the ESP. Try re-extracting the NoM plugin from "NoM_patch_303a.rar"

Dude, that fixed it! :D It seems Wrye Mash didn't really install the latest patch. I uninstalled NoM, then installed it together with its patches manually, and voila! Problem solved. Thanks a lot :smile:

Excellent! Glad that got fixed, it must've been very frustrating.

 

And thanks for your suggestions for mlox, I'll get those into the next update.
