tehweave
Ok, so after that whole 1.7 fiasco where the game quits in Arefu for no reason, I've decided to de-patch my game to before the first patch. Of course, I can't login to windows live or get achievements or use the latest DLC but I'll cross those bridges when I get to them. Which, in your opinion is the best patch to run off of? I enjoyed the first one back when I used it (before I logged onto windows live) but which patch is the best overall for the game? (I.E. the one that glitches the least)
gsmanners
To the extent that this game is a crash-happy pile of poo, there is absolutely no difference whatsoever between 1.0.0.12 and 1.7. You're barking up the wrong tree, there. As far as support for various trivial features like SLI, code-fixes, or AI tweaks, there are differences: 1.0.0.15: Last fully-functional VATS1.1: Proper support for SLI, and some minor speed improvements. Breaks VATS and a number of cosmetic features. Supports playing OA.1.4: Last few tweaks to the game scripting (finally up to alpha-quality). Supports playing TP.1.5: Adds "remapwatertype" (for BS support), and breaks at least 3 major features (one of which can lead to persistent save-crashing).1.6: Fixes 2 of the 3 major features broken in BS. Supports playing PL.1.7: Supports playing MZ. Aside from 1.5, there were no major WTFs. To my mind, you need at least 1.4 (although you'll have all the 1.1 bugs when you install that). There is no essential difference between 1.4 and 1.7 (aside from the skin mismatch bug), so I don't get all the 1.7-specific bashing.
JimboUK
I found 1.6 to be the most stable, I had no end of problems with 1.7. MZ works with 1.6, don't know about achievements though as I have GFWL disabled.
