tommy2kelvin
Okay, so I have a friend on Steam. When I searched for his profile on Nexus, he's there. The words "banned" appeared under his name. Does this just mean he is banned from talking? Is it supposed to be a vague tag? His most recent activity is from January, but he still plays Skyrim frequently. SineWaveDrox
If the word banned appears beneath his name, that means that he is banned from the site, which, I believe means unable to use any site features (chat, forums, downloading mods, etc). You could probably find out why your friend was banned by searching their name in the Forum Rules and Warnings section of the forums, if you're curious about it. BlackRampage
Are you even certain it's the same person? Could be a somebody completely different who just happened to have the same username. I'd ask your friend if he's ever had an account on the Nexus and what the name was/is.
AaronOfMpls
Then, too, "BANNED" also appears (probably for technical reasons) on the profiles of closed accounts -- people who left the site voluntarily and asked for their accounts to be closed. These people can have their accounts reactivated by request, as detailed in this post by Robin/Dark0ne.
bben46
The closed accounts showing as banned is a function of the software package we use for the forums. We would prefer to have them shown as something else, but the Forum software doesn't currently allow that. Basically you are either not banned - or banned, and there is nothing in between. We do track them as closed though.
