LE Help With Mod Page Design

I need help making my mod page look better! Right now i have boring text descriptions and am looking for so much more. I was just recognized as a mod author so i need some help! I know that bbc code is a way to do this but i dont know how!

I use Firefox and it has lots of plug ins for BBCode that make it really easy. Otherwise you can google BBCode and there are lots of guides and templates out there. I use BBcodeXtra and it basically just lets me highlight a word right click it and there are options for different things. Not sure if other browsers have something similar but you could look into that?

Thanks i will look into that but i still dont get the whole BBcode thing

Its actually really simply you just type a bunch of brackets with words and slashes in them and it comes out looking pretty ,...lol...seriously.

 

I can't begin to guess the voodoo that goes on behind the screen thats just the user end.

I use Imgur.com It's really easy!! When you upload a image it includes BBcode ready for you to use! :smile:

 

All you have to do is go on Imgur.com, make an account for free and then drop and drag images into your folder on it. It's so easy to use. Once it has uploaded you are provided all the links you will need for email, standard viewing and bbcode. When making images for mods you have to keep the resolution of the website which is 900 pixels in width. Height does not matter.

 

You can use Imjur for banners like this:

That includes everything you could need and it's really helpful just make sure you read the information provided. I mainly use centered text and coloured text from that guide.

Some of the things I use to help with BBCode is this http://sharneesthoughts.files.wordpress.com/2014/04/a.jpg button in the left corner of your text area. Whenever you write up something using the forums, or maybe another site that uses the IP.Board Software, you can see the size, font, colour dropdowns and the underline, italic, bold, strike through buttons, and when you click on them, they will automatically change your text to have that.

For example: Text.
I just clicked on the underline button, the colour button and the size button to change that, but if I click this button http://sharneesthoughts.files.wordpress.com/2014/04/a.jpg, it will show the BBCode for the text.

 

For example: Text.[ /u][ /size] [ /color]

Normally, it wouldn't show with any spaces, but I put them in there, so you can see what it would look like. Now you can add that into your description page.

 

If you want to add in more for your description, here are some more tips:

Normally, they don't have spaces or the insert text bit, but again, that is to show.

• For images ] insert a url [/img
• Changing font Text
• When changing the font, if you look on the font dropdown, it will say Comic Sans MS, Courier New, Georgia, and etc which you can put into the insert a font bit and it will change it to that. It works with other fonts that are not in that dropdown as well, so you can put in fonts like Helvetica, Andalus, Impact and so on.
• To position your text to the center [center ] text [/center ]
• To create links Text
• To insert a Youtube video, you put in the text after the watch?v= bit [youtube ] oqUmdtdjq_M [/youtube ]
